We all need a little lightness and happiness to chase away the darkness that is trying to overtake our planet.

That is one cute little squirrel.

Personally I wouldn't hand feed or allow one in my house, they are wild animals - but it's nice you're kind to animals.

Happy Holidays to you and yours...........and everyone reading this thread.

I love your squirrel. Give it to me
! We have them here also, but in two parks. Recently they build a bridge in trees so that when going from one park to another they don 't need to cross a busy road. More squirrels saved

I Have PTSD.
My Brain formed new neural pathways to deal with a traumatic asituation.
You cannot " deal" with the " problem".

You do not have a clue what you are saying.
I welcome any study that explains ways to block stress.
This could mean being able to lead a happy life for many people.

Don't generalize and pass judgement when you dont know the information needed to make an educated comment.

It is funny how some say PTSD and others like myself say "that's life".... Is it typical for the brain to created new pathways for stress? Never knew. After I retired, the VA wanted to push PTSD on me a number of times, but I can tell you I'm better off than many civilians would wish to be. I was in many different "thick if it" type situations, and I wonder if Cops and firemen, and so on can claim the same thing.

This is scary!!!

When I was in my 20's, not long ago...I was for a lack of a better term; "put to sleep" by taking effexor.

That drug had the same effect on my "anger feelings" as this new drug would have on stress.
For example: my husband was coming home late from work, dinner was waiting for him and he was a no show...and I could not get angry at him. My senses told me I should be mad, but the anger wouldn't come out. I knew then, that the drug was altering my reasoning beyond normal control.

Thank goodness I've waken from the thumb of pharma's.

The mind altering drugs currently on the market are bad enough...I can't imagine even more of them.

They want us not to care when they come for our guns, our kids, or anything else that makes us tick. Sad thing is, street drugs can do the same thing for less. And probably with less damage. (I in no way endorse street drug usage). Just a comparison.

Stay away from those prescriptions!

Fearmongering about something you don't understand? You obviously have not read the rest of this thread or properly read the original research article. It is beyond me why someone would sign up for a new account just to post this.

This article has nothing to do with big pharma. The drug used in the experiment (finasteride) is a generic drug and has been on the market for decades. It's a mild, novel neurohormone mediator which has ~zero reported incidents of psychoactive effects. If this works as an anti-stress medicine, then the effect is low level and subtle. I would expect to see people taking this drug have fewer acute, irrational panic attacks, rage attacks etc, but not to be bouncing off the walls like with Prozac and other SSRI/SNRI.

Drugs are tools, and tools can be used for good and bad. You can be sold crappy tools by a conman, but that doesn't mean all tools are evil. The only way to know what a worthwhile tool is, is to have experience and knowledge. That means things like - reading the article and understanding what is being said, before you post.

I love the way you said 'I should be angry at my husband for being late'. As if this is some kind of enlightened position?

There are many more beneficial and natural plants that grow on mother earth in order to reduce stress.

Many of these plants belong to the Cannabaceae family. Henceforth are illegal....

I wonder why something so natural is illegal??

Maybe its because the government can't get there filthy blood-stained hands on it to manipulate its base traits and to modify it in methods which all in all is ALWAYS bad for human consumption.

You've hit the nail on the head

The pharmaceutical companies are only here to rape us of our critical thinking, common sense and our money!

How downright ignorant of you - you have no idea who are funding these drugs - I guarantee you that this pill will be backed by those who only want to make more money....

Don't you see.... that's the only reason pharmaceutical companies are here in the first place.

To rob the masses of their families, houses and wealth. - which in turn only leaves human with one thing...

ANGER

I would much prefer to have new Members such as 'GirlWantsAnswers' instead of ignorant fools that think they know more than everybody else because they've been on 'the forum' all their life.

Get over yourself, and don't be rude to somebody you don't even know.

Rant over.

Effexor is a fairly typical SSRI with some norepinephrine activity, it's basically a stimulant. Human usage of stimulants through things like coca, kratom, coffee, tobacco etc goes back thousands of years. Are those things 'robbing us of our ourselves'? I don't think so. I think all evidence points to the fact these things make life more tolerable if used respectfully.

If you have a specific problem with a specific medication, then spell it out? But you are not correct in saying that all synthetic chemical are harmful to us. That is not true at all. Humans are very capable of tolerating all manner of poisons.

There are many reasons to disagree with the way depression/anxiety medicines have been sold to the public, and the situation with a profit-driven hugely powerful corporation selling these drugs to the public is a big problem in itself. But this has nothing to do with the OP's post, and neither does your rant.

If being accurate and true to the original theme of the thread (new research in emotional hormones in mice) is 'being rude' then I will continue to be rude, thanks.

This is the drug used in the OP's article. If the original article is about some new mind-control weapon which turns you into a zombie, then how come I can buy it for 50c a pill from any generic manufacturer?
