‘Dear Vlad, is it Something I Said?’: John McCain Tweets Response to Putin Tirade

Sen. John McCain responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin calling him “nuts” Thursday with a simple tweet: “Dear Vlad, is it something I said?” Putin had delivered a 4 1/2 hour rant on Russian TV, answering questions during a call-in show, and touched on a whole host of topics: Among them were McCain, the recent protests in Russia, and even the killing of former Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, which he accused the U.S. of having a hand in.

“He has a lot of blood of peaceful civilians on his hands. He must relish and can’t live without the disgusting, repulsive scenes of the killing of Gadhafi,” Putin said of McCain, referring to the Arizona Republican’s role as a combat pilot and prisoner of war in Vietnam. “Mr. McCain was captured in Vietnam and they kept him not just in prison, but in a pit for several years,” Putin added. “Anyone [in his place] would go nuts.”

McCain surely could choose his words more wisely,nuts? maybe Putin speaks some truth with regards to McCain's detainment years ago having a long-term effect,that's besides the point,whats said is done ,the baiting isn't helping anyone,including himself.

What I found of more interest is what Putin has to say about Gadhafi at the very end of the article -

Putin also outright suggested U.S. forces were involved in Gadhafi’s death in October. “Who did this?” Putin said. “Drones, including American ones. They attacked his column. Then – through the special forces, who should not have been there – they brought in the so-called opposition and fighters, and killed him without court or investigation.” The Pentagon quickly dismissed Putin’s charge as “ludicrous.”

One way to associate someone or something with the fact that they lied can be traced to the amount of time it takes for them to reply to the accusation. Replying too quick to a question can be associated with the person or persons lying, but so can replying too slowly. Also in the matter that they reply in can lead to clues about whether or not it is true. The fact that the pentagon called it ludicrous. Ludicrous tends to mean that such a thing could never happen. When in truth we all know that it very well easily could have. They are self implying that they committed such acts, and I knew from the moment that they said NATO was going to be in Libya, that they would easily have special forces also in the region. For one, training militia to fight the government which has been proven that the U.S. has done so in the past, in Libya and other countries. It only seems rational that they would also bring in SF troops to take on the more difficult tasks.

What I love about this is that most of the world is starting to realize, and discuss, exactly how evil the US is. Dodgy tactics have become blatantly obvious, now bordering on tedious. All thats left is for its own people to pull their heads out of Obama's ass and take back their government. An event which, sadly, is highly unlikely. Burn America!

I would say the 'Government' or those puppet-masters pulling strings & truly calling the shots in America are the real Evil ones,Not the United States in it's entirety or it's many citizens including myself who actually oppose the majority of B.S. being transmitted externally to the rest of the world.

I do not know exactly where you are from but unless you also live in the states albeit with differing views I wouldn't be so quick to generalize and throw judgement onto something you do not personally have any position on. What the rest of the world may see,be hearing and led to believe does not in any shape or form represent my personal views,taking my wants,needs and moral compositions into consideration and I feel safe to say I speak for many when saying that.

Your everyday American citizen is either so far out of the loop because of the MSM propaganda & conditioning or is on the flip-side,beginning to awake,and we are realizing that are S* stinks too because we are being consistently S* on as well,and a lot are sick of it.I love what my country used to stand for and personally strive & hope that one day that dream can be made manifest once again.....but do not damn the many because of the few!

You want to burn something...Burn those who are really running the show...Get rid of the bankers,lobbyists and the rest of the corrupt goons that are destroying not only America but the world.wake up.

And yes, there are the ones that are 'aware', but to say that your average US citizen does not have 'evil intent' one first has to define said evil. Relishing in the fact that your country has the military capability to bring an average small country to its knees, or decimate it entirely, is that evil? Voting for a goverment on its war capabilities under the obviously false guise of 'freedom' instead of what it can do to bring peace, is that Evil? The US is a war nation, history does not write itself. And though you may be one of those fighting against the tyrany, compared to what is needed to make a true change, your efforts, with all due respect, is but a fart in the wind. the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with the common US citizens choice or opinion and yes,we were duped,all of us. That was not a legal Congressional sanctioned declaration of war.
How do you define 'evil'? and what makes you think the average American citizen falls into that defined category of evil intent?

I did not vote for Bush,I did not vote for Obama...Actually I do not vote period because it is my personal opinion that presidents are not "elected but are selected". So,I do not see anyone up Obama's a$$ these days considering most of the people who did vote for him are now smelling the coffee realizing he didn't quite live up to what he said and represented during his earlier campaign days & speeches .

I admit that America has done wrong but there is many situations that could be pointed to where they have attempted to do good,even if TPTB had ulterior motives that many are not really aware of.

How many people or what agreeable percentage of people are truly aware of what any government is really up to? their true intentions? the exact plans of any given situation? please,name any country where the citizens are really able to control things on any kind of substantial level? and these citizens are in the know of exactly what their country and it's leaders are doing at any given time.

You cannot damn those who are truly left in the dark or purposely mislead. You cannot accuse and hold responsible the majority because of the evil minority...the average individual American citizen has no say so whatever when it comes to war or peace...That is the illusion many fall for.

You are as powerless as any other person when considering this subject,we are all left to the wayside while the War,Greed and Power campaign bus flies by.

Do you have any other suggestions bar a complete,full throttled Revolution for change in America? besides the complete all out uprising of a modern civil war in this country and over throw of it's corrupted rulers I do not see much that the common man or women can really do to change anything.

We are stuck with this mess just like everyone else is.We may not be at complete war with our Government but our own freedoms are being stripped away from us slowly but surely ,step by step approaching an inevitable martial law scenario.

what you fail to realize is that this has been going on for DECADES ie GENERATIONS

my great-great grandfather would have had no problem at all with hopping on a horse and rounding up a posse to ride to the governor to tell him what he thought,

but these are very very different times, and they have made sure, slowly but surely, to erode away all avenues we had to change this monster.

all our horses have their legs cut out from under them.

you might as well blame the prisoners for allowing the guards to beat and torture them.

The US is not evil, The SCUM are. Learn the distinction!

Our boy Vlad here has more cahonas then McCain and the entire "Bought and paid" Congress combined and actually kicked The SCUM out of Russia!

I happen to like Putin, now if Obama had a pair on him like our boy Vlad does then The SCUM would be fearful.
