The principal apologized? I would think a resignation would be in order. Voluntary or forced.

Yeah that's where it got creepy right? Parents and children kiss all the time, totally normal, but it's done in a much different manor than um ..... this..

One of those kids could have been seriously traumatized by the incident, done in front of the entire school no less. Just weird. Who's creepy idea was this anyways, the article doesn't say?

This one says "staff" so more than one person at the school musta thought it was a great idea!

Staff at the school planned a prank for the assembly during which each of the winter sports team captains were blindfolded and kissed.

Ummmm....you are all right, something is very off here.

I think perhaps this was a prank on the sudent body vs the kids involved. Think about it. I really don't think they are stupid enough to do that, and if you look closely at the that video, nowhere do you actually see any lips locked. That one closeup, her mouth is on the blindfold...nowhere near his mouth...same with the mom at the end (in purple) and the first few are at such an angle that you can't tell.

Maybe it just wishful thinking on my part. Even so....it is in very bad taste. If they really are kissing them...than it goes wayyyyyyy beyond any kind of justification.


ETA: Yup...I think this was a prank on the student body. HERE is an article that suggests it and some students confirm it in the comments.

It should have just been a kiss on the cheek. How could the staff that planned this not think of the obvious potential problems with this- such as the kids going too far, thinking they're kissing a 'hottie'?

However, I would also think that most of the kids would sense that it was their parents by their smell and such.

Okay, not only am I disturbed, but I am infuriated at the public school for allowing this!!

I am wondering if the principal got fired, and the reaction to the other parents? The principal had to okayed this before the assembly, right? I am surprised that none of the students lashed out in any type of angry verbal or physical assault. How is this okay in any way in a public school of the USA?

I am doing my best not to say anything too harsh for a violation, but why was this allowed? Does anyone from ATS live in Minn? or close to this event that it may have reached the news and saw it?

I have seen pranks done, Scare Tactics, and random pranks pulled. I for one carry a CWL, and if some of this pranks that deem danger, in a instant I have been trained to pull my weapon out or utilize anything around my to protect myself. Will I be the one that gets sent to jail for protecting myself in a scare prank, do kids know that all people do not have the same reactions?

I watched a episode on scare tactics were I was racking my brain, thinking this young man might have picked up a ITEM and stabbed a "actor" because of a " in the moment" life threatening scenario? Would he be arrested for attempted murder?

I did a report in my Civics class in high school about a family somewhere in CA that the parents of a 15 year old girl that hid in their closet with all the lights off while they were out, when they had returned from their date the father was curious why the placed seemed too quiet. He pulled out his pistol walking around the house pumped full of adrenaline scared for his life and his family's. when he came to his room he heard scuffling in the closet, as his daughter jumped out to frighting him, he emptied his clip into her. He was not found guilty by his peers, but this is to show you that some people take things too far without pondering to SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES of their actions!

Just a thought.

When do we as a community or a group say and implement "enough is enough?" If I was to witness a display such as in the OP, You bet my voice would not be only in my community but would get everyone to see this being done.

Last but not least. I understand that there is a large number of parents in our nation that do not care whatsoever the things happening in public schools because the see it as a babysitting service, and relief that they do not have to bear responsibility as a parent, I'm very sick to my stomach

I have yet to have a child of my own, and when I see things like this happening in schools I am hesitant to have any because of these actions and the psychological affects is does to our nations youth!

They could have made it cute, many of them "thought" that it was funny to kiss their child intimately. It's frightening. I would not have done that. I may have kissed my daughter on the forehead or cheek. It's the parents, simple as that. Some of them obviously have issues.

This is sort of thing that causes one to go "First Blood" and torch an entire town.

I'd be suing everyone within 50 miles and alienate my family the instant I discovered what was going on.

Public schools were the place to go for drugs and loose women. Now we add a pervert faculty and throw in an entire generation of incestuous parents.

To me it looked like a dramatic OTT kiss on the lips.
