40 Members of Congress Protest 'Indefinite Detention' Bill

theintelhub.com

40 members of Congress have sent an urgent letter to House and Senate Armed Services Committee leaders protesting provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act that would legalize indefinite detention of American citizens without trial, as the revised version of the bill heads for a final vote on Thursday.

This has to be stopped. The Obama administration need to cut the strings of their masters and start think about the bigger picture here... We are getting closer and closer to WW3 because of the disgusting greed of a few individuals.

America is on a dark path right now. Let us hope that someone sees the light. Sooner rather then later.

This is probably related too:

White House drops veto threat on defense bill

Washington (CNN) -- The White House lifted a veto threat against a giant $662 billion defense authorization bill on Wednesday after legislators made changes in language involving detainees.

In particular, the legislators added language to make clear that nothing in the bill requiring military custody of al Qaeda suspects would interfere with the ability of civilian law enforcement to carry out terrorism investigations and interrogations in the United States.

This story is getting confusing to follow.

Does anyone know which story is the most recent?

The one I found was updated an hour ago. I have a feeling it will get snuck through like the bail out you guys had.

Maybe they will threaten martial law again

sorry I'm not sure why but I find all of this funny.

So what's the latest. I need a source to post if I'm going to warn people. Some are listening but the majority just don't get it. It's getting pretty scary around here...

Freaking disgusting. I signed the petition and left this on the comment box:

This is outrageous; all who are for this bill will see the effects of their actions in the very near future. If you are considering signing this bill, think once, twice and a third time before you seal the coffin on the USA. Be a true patriot and do what you have been elected to do: Represent the will of the people. This is the land of the free and home of the brave, do not for a second doubt that last part.

Just posted this on facebook which I almost never get on (I know I know).

How is it only 40? And yet we wonder why they have an approval rating in the toilet.
Wow my friends we gotta love the country where we live, but what is there left to do?...

I was just asking if we could do this in another thread! Nice find.

Seems we should be able to do something to change the course we're on, by the judicial process.

On State and local levels, governments are preparing 'for civil unrest'. That's not conspiracy, it's a fact. Perhaps this is the intended trigger. It's a loaded gun, that's for sure....

I just don't get how in the world such a bill is legal. I don't get how it is not unconstitutional.

Are United States citizens not guaranteed the right a speedy and public trial? Not allowing them the chance to even go to trial? It has unconstitutional written all over it.

It bothers me how there seems to be more and more laws being passed that are questionable at best, flat out unconstitutional at worst...

This stinks!!!
