There's two things regarding the U.S that a hell of alot of people are wrong about on this site.

1. The U.S is to blame for everything. Yeah lets all blame America come on jump on board. The U.S doesn't and can't force it's allies into conflicts. Its allies are there because TPTB of those countries decided to be there.

2. The U.S can't just tell a country that it's going to plant itself on their doorstep, not an allied country anyway.

People make out the U.S can do what ever it wants and it can't. And they make out its to blame for everything wrong in the world and it's not.

See this is where I get confused, Australia is part of the commonwealth… we have a Queen, Her Majesty the Queen of England is our Queen, now isn’t it up to her who we go to war with or not?
Doesn’t she have to OK it? after all its her country.

I have some friends from Oz that I love very dearly. I have a close friend that's also moved to Oz from here in the US. He got married, had children... I'm pretty sure he's a citizen of Oz now.

From what I understand, there is alot of Oz that is flooded by the chinease. Chinease gangs, communists and what not. Considering the alternative.. I think I would prefer the US.

Are our guys harming you in any way shape or form? Or do you simply not want americans on Ozzy soil?

I'm curious about your motivation behind not wanting americans in oz. I always imagined it a very cool place to visit, live and explore. Glad you mentioned this though.. If australians dont like americans, then I'll be sure to never visit. But, considering my friends that I have known so long.. I cant imagine that you tell the truth. From all that I know, Australians love americans just as much as many americans love oz.

It's just another case of someone overstating the reality of confusing government with the people. The people are the US. The government is just the government. The people greatly outnumber the government. Millitary are run by the government, but the millitary is made up of americans.

I don’t believe your beloved U.S MILLITARY is doing anything here for our benefit. When has the U.S DEFENCE entered any country and not left destruction and death behind.
And your leader, Constitution prevents the President in this case Barack Hussein Obama from taking such offices as the UN security council, it’s because the founding fathers already knew how inherently powerful the office of President already was, let alone letting him hold additional offices or powers from other countries totally against the rules but you guys don’t obey rules you just make them for the rest of the world.

Kim Jong Il's son Kim Jong Un is the problem.

Remember the rocket attacks on South Korea last year?

It was he who ordered it.

He's a largely unknown entity and could try to 'prove himself' when he does finally take control of the country.

So the US sending more marines into the region makes sense, they're also here to train some of our troops as well.

I do not like threads like this, It is all about hate!.

I welcome our great friends America to Australia, they will help in our national security, help local economies and train our troops and bring very good tech for us to use and learn from.

I read many posts on ATS that are written buy ignorant tools who have no idea about what they write, all they do is spew hate and racism.. No wonder the world is at war.

If you haven’t realised I will tell you a little secret......Allies of Australia have troops here all the time for training and support, some have even had permanent bases here for a long time.

We are a fantastic place to visit and live. All the peoples of the world are welcome here and long as you leave your fears and hate behind and embrace the Aussie spirit that “everyone deserves a fair go” and “look after your mates”.
Why would those who have chosen to live in our great country deny anyone else the right to live in peace and a security in a place that has given them so much that they feel they can refuse others .

I would like to see America double its troop commitment to Northern Territory and bring all the hardware it can carry/fly in and build as much infrastructure it wants.

I’m sure we can put the base to good use when they decide it time to leave.

We; the Audtralian people were never consulted by our own goverment about the US invading us. This was all done behind our backs just like they have agreed to set up a nucular dump for the world here.

When deals like this are done and Austrlaian people are simply told about it when after the decision has been made, it means that both factions of Corporate Autralia agreed to it but said nothing to the people. It meant that the media knew about and failed to inform the Australian poeple. It also meant that corporate Australia knew of it but kept it a secret.

Having US military bases here will be about as usful as the so called free trade agreement we have with the US which enables oranges grown in the US to be sold in shops cheaper than they can be procured from growing areas only a few hundred or a thoushand ks or so away from the metro areas.

I understand both sides and perspectives of this arguement....but let me put it to you all this way -

1) You cannot change the powers that be and their goals of US hegemony in the world....deal with it.
2) China is rising influence and power in the region and growing.

Now you can either sit back and bitch and moan about all this or face the reality of it all.....I have my issues with the actions of the US government in the world as do many americans.

but at the end of the day I'd rather be speaking english and watching China turn to glass than speaking Chinese and watching the US or Australia turn to glass.....understand?

Like it or not, both side of the coin are evil....its which evil suits you and your circumstance that you have to consider....

Now, even thou the game Homefront is just a game....the reality of it is much closer to home than many people realise.

China is building it military we all know that.....North Korea has a pretty built up military with Nukes as does Burma....these 3 could at any time annex most of south east Asia whilst blackmailing the rest of the world with their nukes.....

So.....is the west gonna sacrifice SE Asia for a greater China?

More than likely not.....but what and when do we, the west get involved in said conflict?

The resources of China are greater than japan in WW2...yes, supply routes are and always will be the major difficulty for any power contemplating to take Australia in the future.......but are we prepared so sit back and keep Australia safe with US troops here whilst watching fellow Asian allies fall in the annexation of South east Asia?

This could happen very swiftly and unnanouced.

You know what? They never even asked us if we thought the US should send troops down under!! They just talked with your government and it happened!! Heck, if you don't want US troops there its ok by me. The thing is I don't have any more power to bring them back than you do to send them back.

You haven't ranted here at all. So this isn't directed at you personally - rather at the general tone of the thread But ranting back and forth here won't solve anything except get everyone all angry at each other. US citizens didn't send the troops there any more than Aus citizens asked for them. So, yelling at us won't make any difference - cause the two governments are just playing us all for saps anyway.

You see, this is where I see you mistaken... When did we invade your country? When did we kill your people? When did your country take over the lands of the aboriginies? That's kinda like the pot calling the kettle black. If your an aboriginie (sp?) then dont blame our boys that are told to do something by the few, and they HAVE to do it.. Sure, there are unwanted elements in our millitary. Now it's full of gangs. But ya know... We work with what we got and we do quite well. We're not just badass with our missles. We're badass because we are trained how to work with anything. We can kill an enemy with or without a weapon. We can adapt and are taught to protect life at all cost. That doesnt mean those pricks that killed innocent civilians are justified, or i'm covering for them.. That just means that there were murderers in our millitary... like you and i both have murderers in every town at one time or another.

You act like we dictate the rules of the world... We dont... We dictate how we're going to step in someones ass if they kill innocent people... At least that's what we're SUPPOSED to stand for. We have people from every single allied nation, including visitors from communist countries and russia that come here to train along side our troops. Hell, sometimes I used to think we had more puerto ricans in the millitary than americans. It seemed that way because some bases are like that. Ft Sill was pretty mixed but always had more PRs. Of course, in the army... 1 color exists..

Really??? How do you think we feel when we have to let other countries do it to us?? You really think this only happens to you?? How many of your goods are made in China??? Apparently, if you kept raising oranges, you would be making a killing right now... As the world is in a shortage... Especially here. Seasons can really mess up a crop these days.

Im quite sure we americans would be more than happy to take those oranges back. We're in for a harsh winter.

So... If you're that up in arms about it... Let me know. I'll send you my addy so you can send them to me. I'll be glad to take our crummy oranges off your hands. Lotta hungry people would love those.

She has no rights or say over Australia, That is law. Australia is an indipendant nation within the commonwealth. That is law. She's a sybolic head of state that's all and when she goes the next to wear the crown isn't automatically head of state.

It wouldn't do good for your(or anyones) IQ to go on what is posted on ATS. Australia is a healthy wealthy country with a great life style. Australians are generally well travelled and the average Aussie doesn't feel the way about the U.S that you'd find here on ATS.

If the U.S has one fault it's the lack of knowledge about the outside world and I will admit that I am the first to jump on that one here on ATS

But there's a hell of alot of American/Aussie married couples living in both countries. I myself lived in the U.S for two years.

This thing about the U.S invasion is a joke and I don't mean that people on ATS are joking but that they're blowing it out of proportion. I knew alot of Americans when I was in the Army as they were posted to my bases and I have two relatives who had postings in the U.S while they were in the defence force. The is the norm but people here hear about it for the first time and think they've hit on a conspiracy.

What it is is that one person without a clue starts a thread and then they get support from a whole load of others without a clue.

They're not reflective of the average Aussie believe me.

And you're correct when it comes to freedoms. I don't agree with the Nazi party for example but I do respect very much that they have the freedom to demonstrate in the U.S and that is pure democracy.

Australia, though I love my country very much and it does have alot of freedoms, does not have true democracy. Australia is to subject to bureaucracy. It's semi-democratic at best.

The hate from people in ALL countries is seldom based in reality, I agree. I'm sure that other than the way we speak English, Aussies and Americans are the same.

This seems to be one of those hate threads that are not supposed to be allowed anymore where people hate based on race, nationality and such.

I personally think hateful people hate themselves. Just my thoughts on that.

I would imagine the truth is that those who engage in that kind of hate are small in number as they are here. Australia is most certainly a place I'd like to visit soon.

We used to see a lot of hate threads from Canadians here, but they died off it seems. When I travel through Canada I mainly find nice friendly people who seem to like me also. Same thing I think. Best to ignore those who can't see beyond their hatred.
