You see it on tv and we see it on these online videos. Innocent people who are brazenly attacked by police officers in front of the public, after what would normally be something of no worry if questions were asked first.

So, I shall begin by telling you that over this past weekend, I was assaulted, cuffed and stuffed for absolutely no reason. You can choose to believe me or not, but I assure you this is the truth. I will leave out places, agencies, etc for the reason of anonymity.

Lacerations on my face:

Myself, my roommate and another good friend of ours went out to a bar Saturday night to have a couple rounds. My roommate and I had been having a discussion and were disagreeing. At one point he raised his voice and the bouncer told us to knock it off. I being someone who needs to see something to resolution, again approached him on the subject and he had the same reaction. The bouncer asked us to leave.

Swollen lips and small abrasion

We voluntarily began walking out the door and our friend was behind having a struggle with a bouncer because our coats were in coat check. I get to the front door and turn around to make sure my friend is coming and not having troubles, as the guy who walked with us said he would get our coats.

As soon as I turn around to walk out the door, I feel hands grab me with no prior notification of conflict. I turn and move to get away from the hands and push them down. At that point, the previously unidentified person stated that I had just "assaulted a police officer". He then told me that I was resisting arrest and was working to slam me violently on the ground. I only pulled away going down as a reaction to protect my face. That was the only resistance that I made.

Swollen and bruised nose bridge

The officer that had just taken me down kept yelling stop resisting to which I am completely limp and responding "I'm not resisting." Then another officer joins in behind him and they begin kneeling on my head and back and striking my rib cage, kidneys and back with knee blows. All the while they keep yelling "stop resisting", I'm completely limp on the ground taking this abuse and breathing heavily because of the weight and the loss of breath from the blows. A couple other officers joined behind the two already there. There are bystanders yelling that "this is BS", "he's not resisting", "that's F'd up - you guys are trash".

Gravel in my palm

My roommate tried to record the events on his phone but he was physically moved down the sidewalk by the police while this was happening.

Lacerations and bruising from the handcuffs

The photos I have on here show only the skin abrasions. The biggest injuries are the contusions in my chest, ribs and back. I'll save you having to see that. I keep hoping I'll find video on youtube.

At the end of the beating that I just endured for absolutely no reason, I was charged with "battery of a law enforcement officer". This should make for an interesting court case.

I must add, as I'm sure someone will be curious. I had 4 beers in a 2 hour span. I was not a drunk or belligerent person.

Very sorry that happened to you.

I don't go to clubs or bars anymore, and this is one of the reasons why.

I live in Detroit and hear horror stories about this kind of nazism all the time at these places.

Actually, in Detroit, the police are just organized thugs used to terrorize the ghettos.

You could try to fight it in court, but I fear you will be unsuccessful.

My only real hope is that my lawyer has subpoenaed surveillance footage from the bars security. I fear that it's likely it will have been destroyed...err "already overwritten".

Thank you for the sympathy.

I hope that you personally know...or your friends know...the civilians that were watching it all go down.
Witness's can help a lot with your case.
Especially if others have fought (maybe won) similar charges with the same arresting officer(s).

Hopefully someone got some of it on video. Or the bar (still) has it.

If your story is 100% true...I am truly sorry. I went through something similar back in 2008. I fought it and eventually the charges were dropped. But it cost me over 5 grand to do so. Of course, no recourse to get my money back.

You are a punk. You let the police put their hands on you and then cry about it like a baby.

No police man has ever touched me. -----------------------------

Good luck with that. I have a similar story, well not that similar, but your story reminded me of it. I was playing in a band in the '90s and we played a charity gig in this bar and after it was over I hung around talking to this certain waitress that seemed interested in me. Well, this big bouncer came over and told me I couldn't talk to her and I was like "she wants to talk to me what's the problem" but he kept telling me I couldn't talk to her. It was just weird. I ended up being thrown into the parking lot by several large men and not in a gentle way.

I ended up getting an expensive cab ride home and I discussed my adventure with the cabbie. He said 'You shouldn't have talked to that girl, that guy is running prostitutes there and you were going to get something for nothing" So I got beat down by the authority, just not the real legal authority. The cops even came over after I got thrown out the door and hastled me about it, but at least they gave me a phone # to call a cab.

I'm sorry to hear about your ordeal....for every good man on the force it seems there's always one who is in it for the wrong reasons.

I suffered an incident that left my arms bruised from being manhandled once...I was suffering from a delusional episode and was terrified of the officer who was called to "check in on me" for some reason...probably with just cause, as he didn't seem to recognize that I wasn't "failing to comply with orders" but rather scared and confused about what was happening.

Fortunately, when backup arrived, they were a little more mature and got me to a hospital for a psych evaluation (which I confess, I needed)....I woke up the next morning with five inch bruises on my upper arms from where the first officer grabbed me and slammed me into the side of my car.

(*it should be noted I'm a fairly short female, not up to fighting or resisting an officer in the first place...)

Have you tried contacting the Department and explaining what you went through? They might be interested to know if a members of the Force are being a bit heavy handed without just cause...

you should get yourself one of these for future occasions, cause if you do manage to beat the rap, the piggies will try to set you up works on bouncers too for the guy who missed out on the freebie
www.mobilemag.com...

a few modifications for amperage and a control switch allows you to switch from stun to lethal

also great for when you're just minding your business and a cop decides to stomp you because he thinks you're a protester that needs to be crushed. whether you're protesting or not

Thanks, GE. I too am sorry that you had to go through your ordeal with the police.

My roommate who is one of the witnesses found a place where you can register a formal complaint. It sites the rules the officers are supposed to follow and the officers broke many of the rules. There will be many "formal" complaints by several people.

Once at the jail, they took pictures of my injuries and the nurse documented in detail the bruising, lacerations and abrasions. She seemed genuinely disgusted and said "they do this to thugs, it's obvious you're not a thug". I hope her comments will become available for the case.

It also happens that my ex-fiancee is a lawyer. (we're still great friends and on excellent terms) Her partner interned with the prosecutors office prior to starting her practice. I may have some help there.

She entered the subpoena for the videos today. I'll keep my fingers crossed but she, myself and many others believe it's really just a shot in the dark.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the sympathy. I'll be sure to update the thread with any progress on the case in the event that anyone is interested. This thread will also serve as an alternative source for the pictures and the accounts stated.
