Hello all,
A friend of mine who knows im into the weird and wonderful just sent me a very clear HD video of an "Orb" filmed during his own experiments in sleep paralysis.
He indicated to me that he has had the condition since a young age and has been to sleep centres etc who cannot diagnose or pinpoint anything out of the ordinary with his sleeping state. He decided to film himself using his iPhone 4 while sleeping and the following clip at around 0:09 seconds reveals a streaming Orb gliding around the room.
youtu.be...
I asked him what was going on at the end of the video when his eyes are sort of half open before he jolts awake and he said he was trying to scream. Freaked me out to be honest!
I really admire the intelligent candor for and against all the interesting topics on this website so your analysis and interpretation of what we are looking at is appreciated.

i see the orb. looks like a camera artifact of some kind or even CGI, although the more urgent question that pops into my mind is: why would he film that, and then immediately shut the camera off afterwards, unless he was going to use it for some purpose (maybe to try implementing some CGI into his short clip)...

I think you will find the dude added the effect to the video.
If you watch closely after the "orb" passes.....you see the effect flash on and off just where it went out of sight.
Just another youtuber looking to make money from gullible people

I looked at the original version (m4v). Here is what I can conclude
Not excluding the "orb" being a paranormal event, but bare in mind that this is what I see.
From where your friend is, it looks as though he has a desk lamp above and to the left of his head. The video recorder (iPhone) seems to be placed under that lamp (or close by).
Having taken thousands of pictures, I often see odd things that creep up in my shots.
Imagine if you can, a strand of hair, or a spider's strand of silk floating in the field of view of the video recorder. As it moves it reflects some light from the lamp. It appears blurry, perhaps because the video camera is in focus with the subject and the out of focus artifact is magnified and almost translucent (orb) It has a trailing edge, or tail, because of it's angle in the air in relation with the lens. it appears to traverse the corner of the shot but in reality, the light reflection is moving along the strand of hair/silk. The orb's hue, and luminosity seems to match that of the lamp as reflected on your friend's white sheets.
If that is the case, I do wonder why we did not see a second occurrence of the "orb", but that is what I see,
An out of focus strand of something reflecting light from a desk lamp moving slowly in a way that makes it look like an unidentifiable orb of light.

So let me get this straight, he put the iphone on recording because he knew he was going to have an "episode" of sleep paralysis in the following minute? I was under the impression those things come suddenly and without warning. Also, the iphone cannot film without running out of memory for very long periods, did he start the recording before going to sleep and slept a few hours and only noticed this afterwards after going through the whole recording? In that case i would assume he shortened it just to have the "interesting" part shown in this short clip. If so, it seems abit convenient that it happened just before he awoke, does it not?
Also i can´t imagine watching a recording of myself having a full 8 hour sleep just to try to find something out of the ordinary everytime i sleep, that would take up my entire days. Or maybe this was the first time he did it and bingo?
Some clarification as this seems very far fetched...
