The arrests follow a series of anti-terrorism raids in the U.K., which culminated last month in eight men in being charged with conspiracy to commit
murder and carry out terrorist acts. The raids coincided with a tightening of security in New York and Washington following information the al-Qaeda
terrorist network had plans for attacks on U.S. financial institutions.

SOUTHAMPTON, England � Police arrested four men Tuesday under the Terrorism Act in the port city of Southampton.
The four, aged between 26 and 34, were being questioned, Hampshire police said. Police gave no further details about the men or what they were
suspected of doing.
Last month, British troops carried out a series of raids under the Terrorism Act. Eight men captured in the raids, including an alleged senior Al
Qaeda (search) operative, were charged with plotting to commit murder and cause mayhem with radioactive materials, toxic gases, chemicals or
