There was no "insult" in anything i said. What i say is a warning. You can heed it or ignore it, but it will happen wether you want it to or not. My message is the salvation of Christ, the way out of the hell that is coming to breakfast.

Peace.

But this christian god says we deserve hell. Why did he make a loophole for the rule he made up himself, when he says we deserve to be tortured for all eternity? In order to get this loophole to work for us, we have to have faith that this god became a man to make a human sacrifice of himself to himself so that he can forgive us for our wrong doings. Does this make any sense whatsoever?

Alot of posts make you think: "No,step away from the keyboard, this doesn't require a response". Unfortunately That one was not one of those.

"Currently scoffing" at thinly veiled typical religious diatribe:
"Fire and brimstone! cats and dogs sleeping together! real Wrath of God stuff coming.... "

So how is reading your book and talking to your invisible friend going to physically help me come through his imposed "tribulation"??He wants to punish me along with the rest of human kind for all of mankinds sins????
Quote the late great George Carlin:"There's an invisible man in the sky: He has these 10 things you are not supposed to do! If you do any of these he'll send you to a place of fire and burning and pain for all eternity!

But: He Loves you..."

So I take it: joining your special "mickey mouse club" ( they got the funny hats and everything) or Facebooking with this "Jeebus" guy; Will magically whisk you off the surface of the earth in the face of oncoming natural disaster? Guess you sleep better at night that way....

whatever "doood"...You are welcome to rationalize any belief of your own. As are we...

Ive already posted this but wednesday the 8th at about 4am I was just getting into bed when I heard a loud boom of what I at first thought was thunder. My girl woke up and grabbed my arm but the boom didnt stop. With increasing deepness and without the crackling of the usual thunderstorm it got increasingly louder for about 7 to 8 seconds then stopped. I live in eastern massachusetts and Im wondering if any one else heard the boom around that time. I said then and now this thread confirms its possIible, it sounded like a meteor ripping through the atmosphere. If you can find any diagrams on the trajectories or any other reports or pictures matching what I heard it would be greatly appreciated. Either way, thanks for the thread.

i think i may have herd what your talking bout. im in Rhode island and me and my girl had herd the same thing. also keep in mind we got a pretty brutal rain storm but no thunder all night cept this loud "BOOM" around 4am or so. the weather up here in RI has been creepily warm as well. no snow to hit here at all and that is odd. reminds me of HPL short story the colour out of space.Watch out for patches of dead forrest and glowing slime that may or may not absorb you unto it ungulating form.

Some people just need a deity as an "insurance plan" against fear of our own mortality. The fear of death becomes so great that a god is created to "cheat" death by living forever in heaven or whatever afterlife is affiliated with said belief. Add to this a superiority complex that wields religious belief as a weapon to make the believer feel superior to others. This also placates an inner fear of being alone. When one believes in a deity, one is part of a "club" with other believers. It's all pretty basic psychology.

Couldn't have said it better. If people would pay closer attention, they would see that "God" has all the attributes of a school yard bully. " Do what I say or I'm gonna hurt you "

I used to think in similar ways, that I had to warn everyone,my loved ones, because surely if they do not accept Christ...then...eternal damnation and suffering, right? it worried me as well but I am here to tell you to relax and thank you..only if your intentions are sincere & positive...not because your here to propagate your religion, you can never change another,no matter what you may think..it never truly works..the person needs to make those decisions themselves.

the other thing that woke e up was doing more research on 'spiritual' subjects...near death experiences, obe's,past life regression/reincarnation and that is what personally made my mind up and opened my eyes that what the bible preaches ,that is their truly was an all-knowing,all forgiving "God" he/she/it would never act the way the christian new testament and Jewish torah ...have you ever actually read the bible? I mean seriously read the book?,at the least I would urge you to read through the old testament..you tell me that's a loving, caring God? I don't think so.

I believe in an all-pervading source of creation and life but it is limitless not limited or probably even describable.

you need to do some of your own soul searching, unless your honestly haven't been raised, force fed or maybe your a new to your faith on a new high of bliss...but realize that comes from within, not from anywhere else.
sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be.

I am not sure where the guy gets the data with the neutrino graph. Here is the original source, no such spike in neutrino:

He is a loving God, even in the old testament. You don't see the bigger picture. The needs of the many over the needs of the few. The entire world needed saving and he was trying to teach the Israelites during the provocation how to begin spreading his word but they rejected him and tested him every step of the way. Them testing him didn't stop even after the Provocation as every so often someone would rise up and test him again like Ahab and Jezebel when they turned away from him and turned to Ba'al.

He has been calling out to us ever since the fall. It's like when a parent tells their children not to do something and the child then turns and does it anyway and then gets spanked. The spanking comes from trying to teach them right from wrong and why they should not do certain things. As the old testament saying goes "spare the rod and spoil the child" (paraphrase).

Ever seen how spoiled children are? You tell them NO, and they throw fits and kick the ground and scream and hollar until they get their way. They are willful and headstrong and it leads them in to trouble later in life as they walk through life believing they can do whatever they want and the rules do not apply to them. Prison is full of these types of people, thats how many of them land in prison (i was a prison gaurd, i have seen it first hand). You tell them no, and they go and take it anyway because they want it. By not teaching your kids right from wrong and punishing them, you are raising a criminal and a deviant, a person who rebels against authority.

God has a reason for everything he does and we do not always understand the reasons behind it because we do not know his mind. God says "don't do it" so we should not do it. Disobeying God is what landed the Eve and the Adam into the trouble they ended up in, dying. Reasoning with Satan is a fool's errand, you can't reason with him. Even listening to him will tempt you to disobey Adonai.

He has? If he has, why don't we all agree on this? Seems like everyone would be aware of it.

Sure. But, do you see anywhere where the parent kills their child, or puts curses and diseases on them for disobeying? If they did, wouldn't they be punished themselves by authorities...well...because IT'S WRONG?

If you don't know his mind, then why stand up for him? How can you even speak on his behalf?

Jesus Christ isn't and will never be my Lord.

The Lord is within one.

Let's keep this on subject from now on, m'kay?

What's even more ironic is that they demonize a guy whose name means the "light bringer" (Lucifer). How can such an individual be evil if they bring #ing light?

That's what I don't get about these morose bible thumpers that love to bring Jesus into places that he doesn't belong. They do it all the time. I know people I work with who will preach on and on and on about Jesus when it has nothing to do with our jobs!

You will have a hard time convincing me that Christians know what's right and wrong.

While meteorites are fascinating and great if you see them, they are nevertheless very common. If you spend the nights outside often (interest in astronomy etc.) there is a high chance you already saw quite a number of them. Some can look VERY bright, like fireworks or fireballs. (So called "bolides")

That a conspiracy/2012 site (the one you linked to) seems to see "5 meteorites lighting up the sky" as something super extra-ordinary and sees it as a sign of coming doom and 2012 apocalypse etc. is the most laughable thing ever.

They are on the level of our ancestors 500 years ago...and actually i think those ancestors were smarter than those people today with their 2012 fantasies and fear mongering.

Needs of many over the needs of a few?

Sounds like communism to me (and I'm a liberal by the way).

As the mod said, back on topic!

Interesting... That night happens to be the very night that I was born nineteen years ago.
