I don't understand something.....what is it that no one that is political, sticks with the issues? Who gives a flying monkey if Bush did that, Kerry did this!? I mean what's with people? Some people act as if politicians are little Demi gods that are supposed to have perfect morals and were in their perfect youth? This confuses the hell out of me! Your to vote on issues not what someone did 20 years ago.....did you ever do anything 20 years ago that you now regret? Or that you now see was wrong? Grow up people. Vote for whom ever you want to but why all the grade school bashing? It totally turns me off politics all together....and I certainly won't listen to ones views of why they are voting for their choice if they are bashing. If you want others to take you seriously and really want to change people to vote "your" way......you need to stick with issues for people to hear you....not resort to Enquirer tactics....sheeeeeeeeesh people!

I agree with you one hundred percent, this nation has forgotten the real issues that affect us and has traded them for useless ranting on who served who and whose medal's are legit or not.

No body care if your right has been tampered with or if your children education is priority, no body cares is you are going to have a decent retirement, or if is going to be money to improved our cost of living, these issues are not priority to the candidates and leaders of this country.

But most people cannot find more ways to show how patriotic they are, I am waiting to see the flag tattoo on the foreheads.

This the kind of unfortunate crap that springs up every election at all levels.
I agree it needs to stop. Not a single person is ever squeaky clean. Okay, maybe 2 or 3 mins. out of the womb.

I was hoping that some of those that so fond of harping on non issue could explain to me....it's so common that they must feel some type of compulsion to do so for some reason!

I have the feeling that some people in these boards are here just to do that to post and slander against candidates and occur being political year they will attract most attention to their post. Even I feel atracted to them.

I wonder how many of these members will disappear after November from ATS

i agree all they are doing is bashing eachother back and forth, not even addressing the issues. The republicans talk about nothing but 9/11. which is dumb because that happened 3 years ago so people need to forget about that and focus on the future issues.

I disagree with most things Bush says and does, but that is my right as an American citizen is it not?

Oh and by the way, after the election you can count on me being around. I am here to stay

It is very sad indeed, 9/11 can never be forgotten but it is time to put the death to rest in peace, and yes the Republican Party whole agenda is on 9/11 and the war on terrorism also on Kerry's medals. Then bush bashers go after his national guard record and his alleged drug and alcohol problem, everything is so predictable that I wonder if this is a way to keep people away from the real issues in this country.

Now it is sad that some people has come to ATS on political and other agendas and the members on this boards that takes ATS seriously find themselves attract to this post and like I said we all are impacted by the political euphoria one way or another and wanted or not we all become willing victims of these post.

That I enjoy the bashing yeah I do. That I like bashing yeah I do. So I am guilty of supporting them.

Now that some of these members will go away after November? I think so, specially the ones that make the most noise.

It is solely about the attainment of power, irrespective of the good or harm that may bring, and a populous whose attention span has dwindled to such a degree, that they are content to be fed meaningless sound-bites in endless succession.

THEY (politicians) are not at fault.....we are, IMHO.

I got up this morning to more political foolish post....I'm still awaiting some of those that like to throw stones around to come in here and tell us why...what do you hope to accomplish by doing so? They must love it, so lets hear what the big attraction is to bash, instead of sticking to the issues....do you "know" the issue? Aren't the issues important to you, or should someone win due to who did what when?

I fully admit that several of my posts are made for no other reason than pute entertainment. A good number of people simply love to debate and argue. Don't get me wrong, I think it is very important to be truethfull with your arguments and many others feel that their posts are valad points that people should know...

But it is also fun.

I think that when it come to our countries leader...it shouldn't be about bashing for fun....we need to learn where our candidates stand on issues, we need to vote responsibly, meaning again, learning where they stand on things of importance for us and out country..........not have fun bashing and nit picking every move they make in their private lives or their past!

LadyV,

The problem is that the private live of the candidates are exposed by the candidates themselves, and if they tried to keep it quiet the opposition will find a way to get it out of in the public.

The same politicians that are looking for our votes are the same ones that have not respect for each others.

It is a shame but that is the way our politics are play now a days.

It's absurd.....I look at it as them not being able to stand on the issues very well, so they start slinging mud! I would like to see rules put in place to prevent this type of foolishness! There should be debates and rules making them stick to the issues....it ridiculous!

Ahh yes, but then you are talking about what should be done.

Sadly there are a great many "Shoulds" in life.

I agree taht we should not be bashing jsut for fun.. and many of my comments and posts that often are obvioulsy for fun are to bring some sence of levity to a discussion as I feel it is needed.

Unfortuanlty Marge is quite right in the fact that the mud being thrown about has gone to be come more than just the mortar used to build a political house... it seems that they have moved onto building out of adobi... (for those who dont know.. an Adobi house is made out of pure mud and grass.)

I brought this back up because there sure is a lot childishness going on! Pay attention to the issues people and stop the bashing....that's' not the way to choose a political figure head......some of the stuff going on here would fit perfectly in an elementary school yard
Oh....and before some nut tells me I brought this back up for points....ummmm, I really don't need them.....what else would I spend them on?

Hi LadyV, been a while!

I think that Both parties spend to much time on each others flaws and not enough time convencing me to vote for them. If you want my vote, you have to act like an adult and stop throwing mud around. To the candidates i say, tell me where you stand on YOUR issues and not where you stand on your opponents issues. Otherwise, we wont know what you want to do for us. My new slogan SOP (Sick of politics)

I agree that the bashing should stop and we should focus on the views. In this campaign much bashing comes because people are having difficulty understanding which view Kerry has.

Hopefully as time goes on he will be more clear on all of his views and we can move past the 'flip flops'. I totally agree that we should not focus on what happened 20-30 years ago when both men were young and dumb.
