the vid clearly states : that they declined to pay - not could not afford it
the fire dept is not a charity - funded by goodwishes , its budget has to come out of the tax fund , one way or another
if you refuse to pay taxes - why should you recieve the benefit of services funded by taxes ?

I know several volunteer firefighters in my town and I understand that it is a tough job.
ut where is the line between helping someone in need and just "doing your job."
What would happen if our police officers sat outside a house where a rape or robbery was being performed and watched because you didn't make a donation to the local sheriff's office?
I think that is the most disheartening thing of all, having them sit and watch it happen and do nothing when they clearly could have. They can't go to every fire, true, but at least they were at THAT one.
Sad.

decided not to pay the $75 , because they didnt think a fire like this would happen to them

Pretty disgusting that they would let a home burn over $75, the States is becoming a third world country The UK may be crap but at least our services and Healthcare are top notch.

you lost yourself in the OP
what you made up is your fantasy about the reason for not paying the fire tax
you have no evidence that the home-owners are destitute and cannot pay - its just what you want to believe
