Are you serious?? You must be joking. Homosexuality is NOT a medical condition. It's a normal, human sexuality just like heterosexuality is. In fact, it's not /just/ a human sexuality, it's a natural sexuality. It happens in, if I remember correctly, 450+ species other than humans. If homosexuality is a medical condition, heterosexuality must be one too, considering they're the exact same thing only with different sexes involved.

You can't keep dragging out the old 'it's nature because people were born that way' argument. Many psychopaths were born that way. So if they go on to murder someone, that's OK because it's natural is it? People are born with all sorts of medical conditions and genetic abnormalities. We try to make it better for them but hey, gayness is sacrosanct! I don't have a religious bone in my body. But I will not accept it's right or 'natural' thank you very much! Nor does this make me a 'homophobe' - another word the gay lobby likes to throw around. I say this because I have mates who are gay, nor would I discriminate in terms of employment. But label me that I don't care. In this world of Big Brother we are still entitled to our personal opinions.
Going back to the original post - it is wrong to use your child this way whatever the issue is.

So, let me get this straight. All the gays that are from countries that tourture and kill gays, and also have a population where most are against it, are gay becaus ethey want to be gay. Is that what you are saying? What a stupid thing to say that it is a choice. Do you choose to be straight? No, you don't. You are attracted to women, and nothing is going to change that. So why do think thats different when it comes to gay people?

I don't know much behind why the kid said that, maybe the kid was told to say that or maybe the kid came off with that himself who knows but i would not consider this child abuse.

Women (and i mean hetero women but not all women) use their kids a weapons against the children's father when it comes to custudy when a marriage breaks down to gain ownership on many things like the house, child maintainance, and so on but do people consider THIS as child abuse?

A child has a right to say what they want just like adults and if a child wants to speak out to defend their parent then that child should be given a medal for being brave enough to do that. Many adults think that children can't think for themselves but you will be extremely suprised on how much children can understand and adapt to any situation.

So anal sex (yes I do know it is practised by some heterosexuals) is safe is it?
Damage and tearing of the area round there has been a major factor in the spread of aids. That's why (dohhh) the gay community suffers particularly in this respect.
That's because the area is not a 'natural' receptacle for certain organs. (I'm choosing my words carefully because I don't want to be edited out)

You think all gay people have anal sex lol You would be suprised at how many don't. But so what if they do. You say some straight couples have anal sex, just some eh? lol I can't believe you are blaming aids on anal sex lol. Aids is unsafe sex, be it anal or not.

Fairytales should not be taught in schools as fact.

What does sexuality have to do with anything? Why does anyone care how someones else is getting off?

It isn't the sexuality of this woman that is the issue here, but her lack of intelligence. She's trying to use her child's innocence rather than her own wit and mental fortitude to further a debate in her side. It's a stupid tactic utilized by a human of lesser intelligence. She thought she was being cute.

All the underlying homophobic tones within this thread is appalling. You'd rather judge based on sexuality over intelligence? Sex is a non-issue here; the way this lady gets off should be of no concern. Her and Michelle Backman's intelligence should be under strict scrutiny.

Woops... dropped this
A classic study reveals that young homophobic men have secret gay urges

Equal rights, womans rights, anti-bully measures, science and innovation boom, religious tolerance...

scroll through all the topics on this site. The time is near.....

And then check source and see what actually is happening
the topics on this website are almost laughable. for 2% of truely good info, there is 98% absolute disinfo, bullocks, and just flat out lying
aka, its a conspiracy -theory- website

If your worldview is truely twisting and contorting based on the endless drivel on this website...take a month off..do not read any conspiracy theorys..wander around town. talk to people, live life.
Then you will have a far better perspective than your "I am awake and not a sheeple" nonsense that is programmed into you by people -selling you- their viewpoints through paranoia, fear, and misinformation.

I love ATS, but would never consider most of what is said here to be even remotely painting a picture of reality..its a jigsaw puzzle of overhyped retoric, crazytalk, bad sourcing, and crackpot thinking...its a delicious bowl of psycho soup that I love for entertainment and on the rare occasion, I do become informed about something (either to counter the nonsense talked on here, or because I actually learned something here regardless of the many trolls that try to plant disinfo).

Aren't the anti-gay politicians "using" children in their reasoning it is harmful to society?

I can only hope this video helps brings more children of gay parents forward.

I place myself in this child's position - - as the child of a disabled parent. I would have been proud to take a stand for my parent for full equality.

EDIT: I can tell you from personal experience - this child is wise beyond his years - because he has grown up with abuse and hate from ignorant people. My mom was physically disabled - - people are cruel - - they say things you can hear with no thought to how it hurts you.

Deny Ignorance? After reading this thread it's more like grab a book, light a fire and get all cozy with ignorance because your bigoted mind isn't going anywhere for a while.

If this is child abuse then every president ever is a massive child smasher because they all use their children to say "hey look at what a good family man I am". What about company owners who put their family in commercials? are they child abusers? Obviously.

Hey what about people who use false outrage to further their agenda? Will their children grow up to be bleating sheep like their parents stampeding in panic at every loud noise or flash of light?

NiNjABackflip hit the nail on the head, for me. Using your child as a prop in a political argument (which is my read on the situation, but I could be wrong) is a lousy and lazy debate tactic. It's not abuse, not by a long shot, but I did not enjoy watching this video, and I'm a big supporter of gay rights and opponent of Michele Bachmann.

I ended up feeling sorry for the kid for being placed in this situation, and even felt sorry for Bachmann for being ambushed in public like this. I agree with an earlier comment that she should be called out for her bigotry and hatred, but this isn't the way to do it, in my opinion.

I've had this image in my head the whole time I've been reading the comments on this thread (I've seen it on T-shirts and it's been making the rounds on Facebook). I'm sharing it for all the people who might honestly believe themselves when they say they have nothing against gays...

The commandments are real in the sense that someone wrote them. No God wrote any morsel of the Bible, a human/s wrote it.

Just because /you/ feel religion should be taught in school doesn't mean it should be. You're free to teach /your/ kids whatever you want concerning religion, but leave everyone elses kids out of it. Religion is taught in churches. Math, Geography, Science, how to read, is taught in school. Religion has no place in school.

You might like to take note of the fact that scientific theory has a particular meaning:

A scientific theory comprises a collection of concepts, including abstractions of observable phenomena expressed as quantifiable properties, together with rules (called scientific laws) that express relationships between observations of such concepts. A scientific theory is constructed to conform to available empirical data about such observations, and is put forth as a principle or body of principles for explaining a class of phenomena. en.wikipedia.org...

As to the commandments...they may be real insofar as they are a set of middle-eastern dicta with generally commonsensical advice...but the God and Moses thing? Now that's just the kind of theory you are talking about. Aren't they based upon the Hammurabic Code, anyway?

Well, evolution is more logical than a God in my opinion, but each to their own i guess. You don't have to believe in a religon to believe in ghosts by the way, or anything else paranormal.

Me, i believe that all religon is rubbish, with no proof behind them whatsoever, but again, this is my opinion. The commandments are not really proof that your religon is real. Just man made rules, nothing more, and even religous people can't stick too them

I kinda disagree...but hear me out. When I started out in the public school system, we started the day with the Lord's Prayer, God Save the Queen, and Oh Canada. Ignoring the latter two in this conversation, we also had Bible Stories some time in the course of the day. Once again, aside from the dogma, I feel that many of the touchstones of our popular culture, as well literature, are straight out of the scriptures. Like the 10 Commandments, various parables and stories. If we lack the knowledge of these, then much of our culture, even our language, lacks context, therefore understanding.

By all means, spare us the 'fire and brimstone' unless we have signed up for it...but let's not lose the context of that phrase, either. How do we accomplish that without dogma? Perhaps make religious studies mandatory in the curriculum. At least that would ease a little xenophobia as a bonus.

Just sayin'...

Right, well, same ole same ole.
Name to me one age in human existance that wasn't rampant with this..hell, when the church ruled all and morality was enforced by the sword or the stake, you had some of the most gruesome and morbid crusades going on.

What the difference is now, is simply the exposure of all humanitys warts. We are taught as kids this mystical world of love and kindness, then flip on the tele and see the horrors someone did to someone else half a world away. Well, 100 years ago, same stuff was going on, but you never had the opportunity to turn on the television to see it played out in your living room...so, people felt the world was more peaceful due to simple ignorance.

This isn't anything new, this is simply exposure to what has always been. The world isn't a bad place (nor is it a good place...its just a place)...but you personally can choose what you want to focus in on. You can see humanity as some warty horror, or a beautiful experience that may not be perfect...your choice completely..but ya, when your balance is thrown off (aka, your worldview becoming tainted into wanting the end due to this "decline in morality"...chances are, your just being programmed by someone trying to paint a picture for whatever agenda they personally have. The world is as it always has been. good, bad, love, hate, and everything in between.

Now, go watch some kitten videos
