Remember the part where the government isn't supposed to get involved in this stuff? That's because the government cannot run ANYTHING efficiently, besides the military. The rich who worked hard for their millions actually pay for most of the SSI and Welfare, which makes it a handout, because you pay much less into it than you get out. It's only not a handout when the rich collect social security. Granted, they don't need it, but that's because they worked hard for it.

But besides that, SSI is still a shambles, and will probably run out in our lifetimes. That's because it's an attempt at something called communism, which is known to have failed in the Soviet Union, and is still failing in Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam. The only exception is China, because they have masses of workers, and cheap labor, which is in demand. However, what you don't hear about is life for the average Chinese citizen. They have very few actual rights. People forget a lot that the difference is, in China, the Government allows the people to do things, and in the US, we the people allow the government to govern, a privelage that can be revoked at any time we deem necessary.

TPTB will be sure to put down the OWS movement via the same tactics as always, class warfare and fear mongering. How long before OWS is tied to a terrorist cell, that someone one has worked its way into their fold?

My question is how long will it take until the sheep who are anti OWS realize that all of your support for TPTB is wasted and you're still going to be penniless out in the field with the rest of us? You really think you have more in common with the top 0.1% of the population than with the rest? Really?

Do you work in america? Go ahead and apply for any job and the first thing the employer will make you do is fill out a w-2 form. You MUST pay into social security until you reach the maximum threshold! I have no idea where you are getting that drivel from.

And there is no way that the rich pay more than everyone else combined, since they are a small minority pecentage wise compared to the other classes. Plus the really rich folks employ tax attorneys to lower the taxable income after they send lots of money offshore. Sure the tax code says 39% is the highest bracket but 39% from what?? Based on $10 million the government collects more than based on $5 million........

actually, social security is in shambles because the gov't decided to take it's reserve and con us into believing it would make good on all those treasury notes that were put there in the cash's place!!! it's in shambles because the gov't doesn't want to make good on those treasuries...
if the truth be told, it's not social security that is in shambles....it's our gov't!!!

and the super rich pay a lower percentage of their income in social security than us lower income earners....and in some cases do not pay more than some lower earners....
the tax is capped, after a certain amount, you don't have to pay more, so well, if one person's income is equal to the cap, there are people earning more than them, but paying the same amount in the tax.

by the way, it's not the system communism or capitalism that is the problem.....both would work just fine, or both would fail just as miserably, depending on the moral integrity of the people!!!
ya know like the super rich running mf global swipes a few million, or is it a billion?? from the personal accounts of it's clients, and goes running to europe to invest in their garbage and fails. now, some farmers are in a bind, they had hundreds of thousands of dollars set up to trade from grain to feed their livestock or seeds to plant this spring, and now it's lost and they are onlly getting a third or so of what they had, and no grain or seeds. so well, let's say many of them can't plant this year, they have to take the cattle in to the slaughterhouse early or watch them starve. well, this may cause a temporary price decrease, but in the long run it just might cause the cost of food to skyrocket!!! so, well, if in about a year or so, the people find that store shelves are bare and everything is priced out of their reach, well, if that really their fault?? is that the result of socialism, really?? is it because "they didn't work hard enough"....really???
I don't think so, I think it's because some very super wealthy people just had to have more money, so they could buy more crap, more voice in our gov't, and got too greedy, got to gambling, with other people's money way too badly, and lost!! and then our gov't just has to turn a blind eye because well, they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them!!! it's much better to bite the hand that feeds us all!!!
