Mithra was NOT born of a virgin like Jesus, he was born from a ROCK!
So, the rock had had sex, then?
Out of a virgin, out of a rock; stil a virgin birth.
deny ignorance.
Christian Apologetics are making me think that maybe Jesus is true... What do you think?
This is a detailed response to the claim that there are many parallel pagan gods and "crucified saviors" that rival Christianity's founder Jesus Christ.
"...the character of Jesus, a literary and astrological hybrid, is most explicitly a plagiarization of the Egyptian Sun-god Horus..."

So you really don't care about whether or not Jesus actually existed? Even "IF" Jesus is not divine, don't you think it's important to know whether he exists or not since he is probably the most influential person in the world?

Caesar was born into a patrician family, the gens Julia, which claimed descent from Iulus, son of the legendary Trojan prince Aeneas, supposedly the son of the goddess Venus.[5] The cognomen "Caesar" originated, according to Pliny the Elder, with an ancestor who was born by caesarean section (from the Latin verb to cut, caedere, caes-).[6] The Historia Augusta suggests three alternative explanations: that the first Caesar had a thick head of hair (Latin caesaries); that he had bright grey eyes (Latin oculis caesiis); or that he killed an elephant (caesai in Moorish) in battle.[7] Caesar issued coins featuring images of elephants, suggesting that he favored this interpretation of his name. Despite their ancient pedigree, the Julii Caesares were not especially politically influential. Caesar's father, also called Gaius Julius Caesar, governed the province of Asia,[8] while his mother, Aurelia Cotta, came from an influential family. Little is recorded of Caesar's childhood.

Krishna was NEVER pronounced "Chrishta" and was NOT resurrected! You can read the Hindu scriptures themselves for proof!
As for the story of Horus, he was NOT the only son of God... And his story does NOT mimic's Jesus...
As for the Greek God Attis, the stories about him being resurrected came AFTER Jesus.
Justin Martyr even admitted that the Pagans were COPYING stories of Christianity and they were NOT there before...
They created these stories to create and opposition against Christianity...

There is research that suggests Christianity as an organized religion was created in opposition to the many beliefs and religions that sprouted up all along the Roman border.

So you resort to name calling lol, Oh and I can make many claims of helping others but I will not boast of what I do.
In fact the whole Jesus fed 5000 people with just a couple of fish and some bread sounds like boasting too.
You sound angry in the words of someone who has as much sense as anything in your holy book " Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering" Yoda .just as good as anything in any holy bookedit on 3-12-2011 by boymonkey74 because: (no reason given)

That's a good start. Try looking up what the perpetual sacrifice means as spoken in Daniel. This might help

Sorry I don't count you tube videos made by Christians as proof.....
Not bothering with this thread cos at the end of the day I don't believe any of it so...
well toddle off them ... I don't waste my time with unbelievers, not worth the effort or energy, much better to focus on positive like minded people
Yeah, in your faith trying to save a soul doesn`t count for much by your additude.
I help humans and animals etc where & when I can, ex volunteer fire fighter, a respect for all life, it is not my job to save any ones soul ... heal thyself ... or do you need a you tube video to prove that?edit on 3/12/2011 by Burgo1010 because: (no reason given)
John 14:12
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
I was just giving you a hard time for so easily writing off someone (being a but head:lol
But to be serious for a second, when I was younger i was unsure about christianity, Me and 2 of my friends went to talk to a group of "christians". As the conversation started they asked how long I had been a believer. I replied that I was there to be(for lack of a better term) enlightened. I`ll have you know they never spoke hardly 3 words to me after that. I tell you, if I was as convinced as some "claim" to be about the bible. I would have jumped at the chance to enlighten someone if asked about what i believed. So when I see someone who claims to believe but shows no enthusiasm.
