Gingrich Tells ABC News: ‘I’m Going to Be The Nominee’

A very confident New Gingrich asserted to ABC News Thursday afternoon that he will be the Republican presidential nominee. “I’m going to be the nominee,” the former Speaker told ABC News. “It’s very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high I’m going to be the nominee.”

The bold assertion came after Gingrich refused to criticize the Republican challengers who have begun attacking him and his record.

So there you have it... TBTB have anointed their little warmongering corporate fame whore and that's just about it.

Perhaps Newt will go down as the last president in the US before it was absorbed into some ultra-multi-national-corporate-thingy

I live in Newt's home stomping grounds. NO ONE that I know here likes him.
Doesn't that tell republicans something?

Everyone around here prefers Ron Paul. As far as bumper stickers and stuff like that go, they are all I see.

I'm sure the Democrats would just love for this to be true, because running against Gingrich is just about Obama's only chance of getting re-elected.

Sincerely I say:
The Republican party has
Absolutely no intentions whatsoever of
Reclaiming the white house this next year's election.
Sorry. I'm really beginning to believe this.

Let's see. TPTB wrecking-balled everyone else's campaign in the media by either showcasing their personal sins or giving them a pulpit for their idiocy to play out, and now Newt's the likely candidate. Someone who's used to the political status quo/your basic straight shooter. Perfect guy to hook the pulling strings up to. Business continues as usual. Party conflicts just provide a distraction/false sense of choice...

could be part of the plan to re-elect obama since he's pushing failed policies along so nicely without much threat

I am not a big fan of Obama but if Gingrich wins the GOP nod I think Obama will wipe the floor with his face. And these days I got an even bigger feeling thats what the extremists in both parties want.
I was watching that ad that some people in Iowa put together trying to get Sarah Palin to run, one thing I heard her say that actually made some sense and it was something like its not about beating Obama it's about who we replace him with. I totally agree with that, however all I have heard Gingrich say is something like we have to get rid of Obama no matter what. To me thats party politics being put ahead of country, I think thats something all us voters have got to watch out for.

newt gingrich is smart. but compared to the other candidates, excluding ron paul, he looks like a supernatural genius.

This is like Bush vs. Kerry all over again.

We've got a lame ass in office most of us aren't very impressed with, but the opposition is just so off-putting that he'll probably be back in for another four years.

Now if Ron Paul starts getting some real national attention I will be all over it, but I don't have much faith in people making that choice
