This is an odd mix: How much influence does a PLA Major General & professor have on Chinese foreign policy ventures? Maybe their sentiments echo that of the PRC government, but I can't help but think that it's a bit roguish as well (e.g. Rolling Stone interview with Gen. (Ret.) McChrystal). And then there is the shared interest between the U.S. & China for a stable Pakistani regime.

The only reason I can imagine that the PRC government might actually endorse this rhetoric would center on Gwador (tamilnation.co...). U.S. analysts and policy-makers aren't exactly pleased about it; nonetheless, it is of strategic importance to China in its quest to assert influence in the region and use as a station to monitor shipping lanes that are vital to its energy security.

The United States is the biggest culprit for hiding military information, imo. That is on record. We've got so many secrets we don't know what to do with all of them.

And as far as Islamic Extremism goes, didn't the CIA pretty much gather all these radicals together in the beginning to support its motivations for making the USSR fail in Afghanistan? How do we know Al'Qaeda still isn't being controlled or manuevered by elements of the war powers of our country? It gives us an excuse to invade anywhere we want, and when attacks happen we can sit back and say "we didn't do it, Al'Qaeda did!" not to mention it is public fact that Al'Qaeda was given control of Libya, now are we going to invade there and say "Oops, well Al'Qaeda controls it now so we must invade!"

Our foreign policy is out of control and our non-corrupt leaders in the Congress need to do some serious investigating with the CIA and DoD, both of which are out of control and have been out of control for years, this includes the "black budget special-access programs" where all the tests are being done and not being disclosed to the public. You bet your rear end we could solve world hunger and energy demands with the technologies that are locked up for "national security" reasons. My 2 cents. Stop the warmongering and start making peace with the rest of the world, and disclose whats been going on since roughly 1947 when the CIA was created (right after Roswell, mind you, coincidence?)

First, I am an isolationist, so for me this is just an intellectual excercise as I have no desire to be at war with anybody. With that said, look at the link I provided. The US military has nothing to fear from China or Russia, or both for that matter. Our Navy and Air Force could very handily take car of both of them. I know, I know, all you China leghumpers will scream "Foul", but just look at the numbers. Our military so far outclasses either of theirs that it almost isn't fair...almost. That is what happens when you pump hundreds of billions of dollars into defense spending.

Edit to add- Also, talk about a country that is "saber rattling". Geez, China is really trying to flex its muscles lately. The problem is that no real military person could take those little yellow slaves seriously. They are screaming about how wonderful Pakistan is, while just last week we were discussing China building a military base (on MUSLIM soil) to stop the cross border incursions. So, is Pakistan a friend or enemy to China...or is China just using this as an excuse to try to be relevant?

No one can deny that america has the best militery in the world, but you are seriously delusional if you think america would walk all over china. And im sorry, but if china and russia teamed up against america, just these three countries, you would lose, unless you nuked them, but they would just nuke you back.

You say you hate people who stick up for china. Please. Your military has enough trouble identifying its own allies, leaving many innocents dead, that is, when they are not shooting at each other. All the gear and no idea. Which is why you had your asses handed to you in Vietnam by people in tunnels with Soviet equipment, and why you had your asses handed to you in Afghanistan by people in tunnels with Soviet equipment. Also, why did your Special Forces throw a hand grenade at the woman they were trying to rescue?
