I'd give the group slightly more credit (well parts of it anyway). The #OWS (like it or hate it) was primarily sparked by them. They have also done a lot in terms of educating the masses in regard to corruption etc. They also are nowhere near as powerful as everyone claims, and many would argue that those fighting for a cause are diametrically opposed to what Anonymous is all (or was) about.
