These people have done more than what any of us could ever do to the thieves and cowards who hide behind their smoke and mirrors. They have been doing their operations without picking up a stone. I believe the world needs you.

Will we see more of them since the 2012 elections are on their way?

Umm .. that's probably the worst comparison I've ever seen for Anon.

They are a group of hackers. Nothing more. Nothing less.

They are hackers on steroids, treating the web like a real life video game sacking websites invading MySpace accounts disrupting innocent people's lives. One lady had to buy a dog! How can you support them!?

I agree 'Sons of Liberty' stretches it a tad far, but they have the right idea; Make life a living hell for the major banks. MAYBE, just MAYBE, the banks will learn a lesson. But I doubt it...

LOL Anon isn't even the hacking movement, it is a form of online democracy which promotes operations which participants choose to participate in or not.

Let me correct you and inform you that Antisec and LULzsec are the hacking groups. Just thought you should know that!

For anyone ACTUALLY interested in what Anon is really about, watch this... The sheep will not watch this because it will challenge their currently held beliefs because they haven't actually researched anon.

I am not trying to recruit people btw, I am just providing information about what anon actually is, because apparently some people still think it is actually a hacking group which is just one facet of what they have done is not a mandatory part of participation, which is actually part of one of their inside jokes.

The prevalence of this myth cracks me up!

The original sons of liberty put their faces/names out in defiance for the world to see, risking to lose everything for liberty. Comparing them to individuals who sit and cower behind a computer screen minimizing their risk is pretty much a joke.

Thank you SO much for correcting me. You're right I had better do some more research. I know nothing about the group, it's origins or the offshoots.

which is actually part of one of their inside jokes.

WOW!!!!
I just do not see it.
I think I read somewhere they were sons of script kiddies.
I haven't seen anything impressive yet, unless a fly buzzing your nose impresses you.
Why all of the interest in anon all of a sudden?

That is the Fox news piece which started the inside joke I was referring to.

Thanks for confirming what I said!

Now go google "Anonymous Hivemind 101 - The Virtual Tribe" where it actually references that fox news peice...

Oh well, I know you wont read it all anyway.

People want to think they're a part of something. That's what turned Anonymous into the annoying, self righteous, preachy group it is now. It used to be about having fun. Now everything is super serious we r legion guise lets change the world BS. Blame 14 year olds and college kids that think they're part of a secret club. Also, ignorant old people that don't know about all the other stuff that goes on.

Actually I am not sure if it is that specific fox news piece, but Fox has been a huge motivation for Anon. Edit- nope, you picked the right one, this is the news piece which is part of one of their inside jokes...

From Anon...

Internet Haet Machine: Anonymous Trolling for the Lulz
The Internet Haet Machine, a meme coined by the infamous Fox 11 piece on Anonymous back in 2007, is the means by which ordinary LOLs, a basic force of the Internets, is corrupted into Lulz. While the word "Anonymous" means different things depending who you ask, the concept of an Anonymous Community that Trolls for the Lulz - colloquially termed an Internet Hate Machine, applies to an Internet community that has achieved self-awareness, and the life cycle thereof.

I can't tell if you're trolling or really didn't get that I was joking in my first post to this thread. I suppose I should have said internet haet machine at some point but I thought people 'in the know' would get it immediately.

Yeppers.

It is just a new messiah to believe in.
The "jesus" is gonna come save us crowd pretty much figured out that is a lie.
The "aliens" are gonna come save us crowd pretty much figured out that is a lie.
We need a new somebody to come save us, and we need it to be a real possibility unlike the previous two.
So, now all folks have to do is sit back and let anon do the work.
Apathy still is the word of the day.

Lesson to be learned, If you do not get up and do it, nobody else will.

The only people that will pay for the sins ao ANON against the banks are you and I. If they steal my vredit card and run up big charges and the bank agrees to pay it...all they do is pass that cost along to you and I in the end. if they steal my credit card and run up big charges and I don not notice until after 90 days then the bank is not going to pay for it..I will. I pay attention to my bank account but there are lots of people that do not....this new scheme of ANONs is a bad idea and will hurt the very people they believe they are trying to help.

You are comparing them to the Sons of Liberty,,,please more like a modern day Bonnie or Clyde...these people have disrupted the lives of people by playing with things that do nopt hurt anyone but consumers...if a web site goes down the retailer just charges more in the end to make up for the lost revenue because of the attack...the banks will not be hurt by this stupidity only those of us that have to do business with the banks...stupid comparisson and a stupid or another one from ANON

Anon have been part of wave that is sweeping across the world. The wikileaks megaleak, bradley mannig, the arab spring and the occupy movement... It is all connected and is changing history....

All those peeps that think Anon is just a group of hackers on steriods - dont have a clue. Most Anon dont hack... Maybe some of these peeps should go look for themselves instead of judging from the outside...

You have not seen anything impressive because you have not been looking in the right places.. Dont expect the information to be broadcast to you on the tv. Its not going to happen. The system Anon are up against owns the news channels, owns the banks and owns the government.
This is a conspiracy sight. Try looking between the lines or go and have a look for yourself what they do..
