maybe RetroShare can help to build indestructable communities but please spread the word to help in
development. RetroShare is good weapon against censorship.
Have you ever watched MTV Cribs. That is exactly why I feel good about piracy. Most of the real and talented artists I listen to would not support
such a bill, infact many even support illegal piracy and the burning of their music. Music should be free, it should not be owned by anyone.
Thank you for this posting Stars and Flags to you ModernAcademia. This bill is a direct threat to OUR freedom of speech and of course this web
site.
Those of us who dled so call copyrighted material and are thinkers are now doing so via seedboxes. A Seedbox is a computer in a foreign country
where they are immune to American and UK anti piracy laws. A Seedbox is a high end computer that is rented to up to 4 users which is connected to
high speed Internet access and again the ISP is immune to American and UK Laws. The items you want to download is downloaded to that Seedbox with out
any worrys that the ISP is spying whilst being blackmailed to report your activities. A download which can be a BlueRay copy around 10 gigs in size
can be finished in 15 - 20 mins tops. Once the dled has finished then the user connects to that Seedbox via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or SFTP
(Secret File Transfer Protocol, Secure FTP) using software that will run the transfer at the fastest speed the users home Internet connection is (in
my case 4.5 mbs) and transfer that movie from the Seedbox to home computer can take as long as 8 - 16 hours. This FTP transfer is done using a
secured encrypted technology the same that the Corporates use to transfer their confidential sensitive data between remote sites.
Using this method even the ISP does not know what is being transferred but they are aware that large data is being transferred!
My only point is up to now the pirate is usually one step ahead and remember those of us who have been doing this for years after years are the same
people who have made changes to the computers and technology that we all use today. Now the evil empire wants to take it all away.
IMHO We must all resist these changes to the laws at all costs, after all, many country men and women have served their country thinking that we were
protecting the Constitution and Bill of Rights along with our way of life and too many have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Those members of
Congress who are trying to control the Net are the same who are trying to make protesting against the system and the rich an act of terrorist
activities. Most of these members of government have never serve in uniform nor their children. Remember the people who are behind these bills that
will curtail our freedom on voting day. Our Vote is one of the few peaceful options of resistance we have! Piracy is the not the be all or end all
but freedom of speech is the ability of staging legal protest are protected by the same laws that keep the downloaders free doing what they do. BTW I
remember when Rock stars toured and gave concerts to make their money record sales was just icing on the cake... and yes it is true many downloaders
buy more legal copies than non downloaders the reason many of us download is to have a copy first...

It would never happen. To many people use and care about the internet, just about every American would start to wake up. It only takes one topic to
get you down the rabit hole.
Read up on several SOPA articles and videos. There is merely a handful supporting this and congress is still supporting this despite the gross amount
of negative attention and opposition brought forth.
It would be very desirable for this to not exist, however, nothing is off the table, as the politicians enjoy saying.
the only way to get the entertainment industry to back down from this is to boycott their services and products.
They won't know you're serious until you threaten (and pledge to back that threat with action) their profits.
This also isn't JUST about the entertainment and intellectual property, it is about the government wanting MORE control, they want MORE people
relying on them to do things. We cannot give them more power.
So the important things to do here are to boycott the entertainment industry, and petitions in your congressional districts to stop your
representatives to Nay this vote or get them recalled and replace them with Constitutional candidates.
There is a group in the house fighting this bill, including Ron Paul, which is one of the signers endorsing the letters to the rest of the house to
stop this.
This group isn't big enough to stop it but we need to keep the pressure on our elected officials or fire their asses.
Think about it, they are working to literally take everything that has been the Foundation of our society, including our Bill of rights, by passing
laws to make our "rights" dependent on other things, instead of the other things being dependent on our civil rights.
The Last major outlet, not yet controlled by Corporate America, is the Internet. The internet was released to the public as a way to collect intel
about us, and as a way to control us. But slowly over the last 10 years, it has moved from "control" the last way a person can openly speak their
mind and inform the public as to what the Media isn't telling them, this does, and has many times forced the media, corporations, and political to
address an issue they have wanted to keep secret or out of the public's eyes, (example OWS).
Now they can control our true last means of freedom of speech and Expression and by controlling those, you can control everything about us, including
our ability of "waking people up".
Once this is controlled, the Media can go back to reporting on who the next "American Idol" will be, and the rest of America will once again be
blind sheep, and those that would be awake, would not be able to put much online without the fear of Jail, fines, and felony's.
Welcome to the New America!
We are becoming, what we were fighting in WWII, And the Plan is closer to done than you thing.
