Weird Dream

Well i had this dream a few days ago and really confused with it, well anyway

I fell asleep then i woke up and it felt like just as you do wake up and i thought this is strange my room
had a few old things i used to have and then i kept thinking oh crap there's something by side of my bed or underneath it and then i look i saw nothing then bam this thing jumped on top of me and trying choking me then i woke up but it felt real i'm not sure if it was a lucid dream or i went into a astral projection as iv'e never had one, also i'm not sure if it happened because of my imagination or it was just a nightmare that felt real and my mother also said she heard funny noise like coughing or something come from my room

Anyone want to tell what it was ? lucid dream or astral projection ?
