I would recommend using the nunchaku as a weapon, not as a phallus toy.
Don't knock it til you've tried it.

lol I would never try it like a phallus toy...

but seriously.....
I was once into freestyle nunchaku and lissajous do, freestyling with a nunchaku will kill your hands over a period of time, especially with solid heavy chuxs. The repeated nunchaku catches, passes and tricks pounds the hands like a meat tenderizer. The human hand is not fit for such abuse, even with foamies... just a warning to fellow freestyle chuckers.

Now using it like a weapon is a bit safer on the hands, because you don't spend hours learning useless tricks.

Such a talented young Lady your daughter is.

Fusing contemporary dance with a weapon of folklore is an entertaining mix.

At 2.48 it was most impressive - demonstrating her humbleness performing Rei, (bow)... obviously well tutored.

How about the cardiovascular benefits? How about developing hand and eye coordination?

The benefits outweigh the the harm, when done in moderation.

In freestyle it can take several hours to master a technique, or even to learn huge amounts of techniques can take it's toll on your hands. This depends how far you take it, if your competing you will notice your hands deteriorating over a slow amount of time, it's this slow process that chuckers don't notice until they get endoscopic surgery etc. or all that other bad mojo side effects. The sad part is most will not realize how they got their hands F'ed up.

The true benefits of nunchaku is learning it as a weapon, you rarely use passes and spins etc. It's mostly grappling, trapping and striking.

Your daughter is very talented she appears to be a natural athlete. With her talent it's more than likely she'll move along to better things.

Being all things equal in combat, the stronger one should win, imo.

Not in the soft marshal arts... No

**ATTENTION**

Alright, we've gotten it out of our systems.

Now let's get back on topic. No more jokes about the 14 year old please.

That is a really impressive video! She looks like she could beat up a 400 pound linebacker if she needed to!

That is interesting just how in synch with the music she is. Even the drop and bow. Very impressive.

My daughter some day... She is going to be trained just like that. I WAS ( Still am) one of the bad boys, so I know all the tricks and what not... Not going to happen with my daughter.

Why are there so many haters? Thanks Moderator for resetting the tone!

I mean, someone comes on here, bares his soul, his life and his love's a little and a few see fit to # all over him and his daughter? Some folks must have a very sad, lonely, loveless life. Good luck with that!

I watched a kick-boxing match, just to refute your idea of size being important. A famous and well known American fighter was pitted against a small, wiry Thai guy. The American was built like a brick #-house, He was not tall but stocky. He was no match for the small Thai guy though. They danced for many rounds, and the Thai guy took many severe body blows from a much heavier opponent. He was just waiting for his chance though. One well-timed kick to the neck of a much larger individual K.O'ed him in less than a second.
It really was a David vs Goliath match, and David won.

OP teaches daughter self defense, presumably so that she can defend herself. OP then posts a video of his teen daughter online. Perhaps not the smartest thing to do to keep your daughter safe.

Also damn dude. It has her nae and the date of the open mic night in the video description. Guess how long it takes to find out who she actually is, and you too? Not long. Be careful.

Edited because that last sentence sounded far more critical/ass like then intended when I read it again.

How is posting a video online "asking for trouble"? No really, do please elucidate. Do you see personal info or even an identifiable face in the posted video? If that girl walked past me tomorrow, I wouldn't recognise her with or without the nunchukas.
ETA Never noticed what you posted with regard to personal info. Caution is advised but still hardly an invitation for...trouble?

I now know her name, I know the date of the open mic night and her age. People have been found with less info online. Just trying to divert disaster for a poster I like.

OK. Me too. Sorry I added you erroneously to the haters list.
Personal info can be revealing but I can be there in a day or so to deal with any troublemakers. If anyone can provide me with a weapon I can be done and dusted and gone again in less than a day.

Really just saying this for OPs benefit because I like him and know how fast one little post to the wrong place can turn into a huge issue, especially when starting a thread with a title that I guarantee some posters here will be mad about.

I've got a few you can borrow if any trouble comes up.

Yeah, we always get your kind posting. I picked a controversial title on purpose. You show your true colors. I remember you as the OP for the 8/3/11 thing. LOL.

I'll take it in order: Self-defense check, for the internet creeps that finds out where she lives. The video was edited by yours truly to be grainy and not show details, before I posted it online. She's safe.

Sure it has her name, her first name. It's also a nickname, not her real name. The date? Meh, who cares about that, other than to prove she was 14 in the video. That's for her and my recollection down the road.

If you want to pick hairs, you could even find out MY real name, by the UN for the uploader. That MAY be real as well. I am also in OHIO, so keep searching.....while you are at it, check out the other videos in my youtube account.

You won't get far. I've covered my tracks, per se.

Thanks for the advice, however, as it's good to know people are always pointing out the things that could cause trouble.

Good to know friend. If a friend needs help, I can be there and gone very quickly. Are your ballistics untraceable? I'd hate to leave incriminating evidence behind.

Really did have your best interest in mind. I think you're a good guy and was just worried you left a lot of information out there.

Pretty easy to pose as a friend who had to get a new Facebook account and glean more information. Already have her first name, last initial and state and I didn't do anything but watch one video.

Hey, just offering some advice. It's really up to you. I should have done all this via U2U though. My bad for that.

what is funny is watching you all go on about so much info, but if it was truely for self defense there would be no braging or showing off. Even from a defense point of view why would you let your oppent know your skill?
