Tired of threads on Imminent Disclosure? Me too. Here's one that might make sense, and doesn't predict a date.
Disclosure is, supposedly, this moment we all undeniably accept ET life (in our presence),
but contrary to popular opinion
it actually
could happen before they land and say, "We're Heeeeerrrrre!",
or our government(s) decides to fess up - bear with me.
Even when they do, those of us fortunate enough to be alive will be able to say, "see - we've been telling you all along". The question is, what
proportion of us will be able to make that statement?!
Will it be the few(?) of us, who retreat to communities like this in order to discuss fringe topics that may, or may not be, acceptible to speak in
the open?
Or will it be
all of us?
My guess is the latter, and here's why...
Lemme start with a little backstory:
When I was 5-10 [70s/80s], talking about UFOs and Aliens was cool because you thought about the possibilities. You loved the bad B-movies. Playing
'outer space', and with the toys. Letting your imagination run.
- 10 years later, when I was 2 years into college (20 now), it was intellectually stimulating to contemplate the
real possibilites of
extra-terrestrial life, now that I'd actually been exposed to a higher level of education [Major Div I Univ.], more diversified ways of thinking
(50,000+ UG &G), and studying sciences and projects that actually provide plausible explanations for things we thought were fantasy as the 10year-old,
now made possible by data and science.
- 30 had come and gone, and by then it wasn't even a question. There DEFINITELY. IS. life 'out there'. Somewhere. The science, math, and
understanding of the cosmos, says so. Problem was, the chances of us having come into contact with one were slim to none. Right? [I have a nice
little theory on that, posted somewhere (looking)]. But, anyway...
- Wrong - now, I'm 40 and I realize how far WE have come in my short time on this earth - technologically - it's really kind of staggering. So to
think that we would never find ET life is thinking small - that's because of OUR limitations, OUR technology, OUR understanding of the sciences. Look
how far we've come.. in the last 500 years... the last 100... last 40... last 5... YEARS!!!! An alien civilization only 'slightly' older than us
would surely have mastered FTL travel by now (or, close to it - or, understands how to manipulate gravity (look how close
we are), and therefor
spacetime).
I mean, again...
Look what advances we've made in the sciences and what we are on the verge of... with CERN, string theory, M theory,
multi-verse understanding, dark matter detection, genetics manipulation, cosmic observation... the list goes on!
Like I said, the question then becomes, how quickly does the percentage of 'those who believe' go from [whatever you like it to be now] to 100%?!
And, I think
that is automatically happening, currently*. The rate at which people are realizing it is accelerating.
Think about it:
when was the last time you heard a buddy or even stranger say, 'sure, there
has to be something out there'. And, it was just... okay to say.
Seems like all of my friends now (certainly my 'professional' ones)
**I have a theory about this (acceleration to 'disclosure') and how it relates to relates to 2012, and 'enlightenment' that may be coming... anyone
interested, or have I blown my load, here?
