Each side will claim the moral high ground.
It's just a mud slinging fest at this point.

Pakistan is pissed that they were caught red handed playing both sides.
It will not end well, regardless of the evidence brought to light.

I agree with your take on Pakistan.

With all of the Thanksgiving holiday madness of this weekend and "black Friday" news coverage, I wonder how many Americans have NO IDEA what is going on over there. We should all be watching these events very closely.

Is this all that suprising??? Pakistan have been pulling stunts like this for a couple of decades.

Remember when the Russians invaded Afghanistan in the 80's??? Who do you think the middle-man was for the cash and weapons the US gave to the Afghani Generals (aka Warlords)??? Pakistan of course. And they made a nice little profit from it too. Hell, even back then there were people in high places within the US Government saying not to trust Pakistan, because they are playing both sides.

This is definately nothing new people........

Time for the west, especially the USA to wake up to the enemy that Pakistan has been all along, at least segments of the ISI and Pakistani military.... Along with covert allies that they are and have been working for and with.

And to wake up to the depth and level of their involvement with Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

They have nukes, don't want to piss them off, better to make nice with them and use them as a reluctant ally in the war.. But this ally will do everything possible to stab the west in the back covertly at every opportunity they encounter.... And possibly worse.. IMO

Meanwhile in China, Russia, Iran and Syria today...

LAHORE: Banned group Jamaatud Dawa (JD) protested in front of the Lahore Press Club on Sunday – its third demonstration in the city in a week – against the granting of most favoured nation (MFN) trade status to India and the NATO attack on Pakistani troops.

Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi said the Taliban, Muslims and Islam would succeed and their enemies would fail. He said “the enemy” had challenged Pakistanis by attacking the soldiers on Pakistani soil. He said if Shamsi Airbase was not vacated in 15 days, as the Pakistan government has demanded of the US, they would announce “a new war and jihad” against the Pakistani government.

Third rally in a week: Prepare for jihad, Jamaatud Dawa says

Jihad time...................................

They're already using language like "unfortunate incident" still under investigation. etc in the MSM broadcast news in the USA, sounding almost apologetic in tone.

Probably what will happen in the short term is an admission that there was no one fully in the wrong or in the right on either side in this, and that it was just an unfortunate incident of war... Pakistan wasn't actually taking sides here, just acting in self defense in the heat of battle... "friendly fire" happens you know?

Something like that, and of course, send in Hillary to smooth things over, leave the Pakistanis smiling with a secret deal or two, and of course the Pakistanis laughing their asses off when she has left the room, maybe even a few high fives, and several "allahu akbars"

Got to get back to where we were, an "uneasy alliance"

Lashkar-e-Taiba has attacked civilian and military targets in India, most notably the 2008 Mumbai attacks and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. Its objective is to introduce an Islamic state in South Asia and to liberate Muslims residing in Indian Kashmir. The organization is banned as a terrorist organization by India, Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Russia and Australia. Some experts such as former French investigating magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguière and New America Foundation writer Stephen Tankel believe that Pakistan's main intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), continues to give LeT intelligence help and protection.

Lashkar-e-Taiba

Hmmmmm.

So protesting and outright calling for Jihad, and ISI,and Pakistani Government doesn't arrest any of these protesters........................

Hey Slayer...those links look awfully familiar

All you Pakistan defenders out there...this is a time of war. We are fighting the Taliban. If the nation of Pakistan didn't want to see anymore violence and bloodshed, then maybe THEY should push them out instead of harboring them. Maybe then you will see a drop in drone attacks on Pakistan soil.

If they weren't running away and hiding in Pakistan, this fight would've been over long ago.

One small yet telling detail from your quote is that "The Afghan official in Kabul said the government believes that the fire came from the Pakistan base—and not from insurgents operating nearby." which means that it has not been verified and I doubt it will ever be to anyone's complete satisfaction.

I've heard chatter about Pakistan joining (willingly or not) the "Axis of Evil" which was first mentioned by G.W. Bush who was a part of P.N.A.C.

Basically NATO is driving events such that events will yield the desired reaction so as to further the agenda of furthering the operations against this Axis and it seems that Pakistan may have been added to this list.

In general it seems that this Axis is all about countries who; do not have a centralized bank, are thinking of trading oil in a currency other than USD, and pose a "threat" to national security. (which perhaps they do).

To completely honest, I thought that Pakistan was a part of this axis when the Axis was first mentioned. If anyone knows more information about this or possible reason why the country may be included (if it wasn't already), I'd be grateful.

I've a question, if you will...

What the hell does that have to do with a night time 'air support' call coming into a helisquad ?

Oh. Wait ... Sorry. I forgot ... time for the one-trick pony show ...

US == triggers first, questions later.

Ooops. Hold on a sec .. it was ISF [read: NATO] forces.

Then again ... I guess the sounds of 'Derp'.'Derp'. 'Derp'. could be interpreted as that of a US Helisquad in action.
.. rotor blades, and all.
:shk:

some peoples kids amuse me, at times.
