LOL glad I could help out.

You know things are messed up when we get comedy relief from these politician's awards.

IMO the only prizes these people should be getting is an Oscar, even though their acting skills aren't that great.

The next question is who deserves the prize more, Obama or Putin?

There are a million more that can't be posted on ATS.

That said, thanks for the best laugh I've had all week.

What? This is really upside down! As much as I like Putin,I really think that the news anchor woman that gave Obama the finger deserves it more.

I think I'll watch 1984 again. I'd read the book but I think it's outlawed!

Putin I think is loosing his support base in Russia. When he appeared at the boxing match he was confused because people actually booed him when he took the stage.

If anyone was under the illusion that George Orwells' "1984", was simply a novel...you were warned...

Peace is war...
Love is hate...

The only issue Ihave with that mind set is if people recognise the problem, then why do we allow it to occur? If you looked out your window and saw people arming themselves with the intent of coming into your house, are you going to just resign yourself to that fate?

'Mindset', is an interesting word...

...and I agree, 'allowing it to occur', is problematic...we have seen, over the years, the results of, 'not allowing it to occur'...the price is...consentual sacrifice, especially and including your life...

The solution is, Mass revolt (of sorts)...
Some criticism of the 'Owners' movement revolves around this very idea...Owners are labelled new age hippies, homeless, idealists, dreamers etc...yet, this is the very solution at the 'coal-face'...
Other movements are the Anonymous group...essentially, revolt by stealth...an equally admirable procedural direction...
Resignation is not an option...but, to swim against the stream, you must swim with it first...this can look like resignation...

I have faith that my small part of the revolt will make the change we all so desire...

Cheers
Akushla

What a joke..

These prizes use to be respectable who to listen, and look up too.
Now anyone that gets these you know to watch out for..

Although if Nobel the originator of the Nobel Prizes invented dynamite it may not be surprising that the winners of his prize may be of the same cloth.

The book (which is still available) is a hard read in spots but of course better than the movies. Although since I have both, I'd recommend the Columbia version over the BBC version since it follows the book closer. I did like the acting in the BBC version better though. I think I caught a quick glimpse of a late 70's version flipping through channels once but it looked lame.

A lot of people ARE Resting in Peace right now. That must be good for something on the Peacemaker scorecard.
To quote Dale Gribble (Rusty Shackleford) of King of the HIll fame.
Putin?!?!?

Well apparently the Chinese Confucius Peace Prize doesn't have any more creditability than the Nobel Peace Prize. Whats going on? Obama receives the Nobel Peace Prize and continues in Bush's steps, Putin wins this for another war.

HEY people...

How about Awarding a peace prize for PEACE?

For Putin, a Peace Prize for a Decision to Go to War

BEIJING — The Chinese committee that awarded this year’s Confucius Peace Prize minced no words in honoring the winner, Vladimir V. Putin, prime minister of Russia.

“His iron hand and toughness revealed in this war impressed the Russians a lot, and he was regarded to be capable of bringing safety and stability to Russia,” read an English version of the committee’s statement. “He became the antiterrorist No. 1 and the national hero.”

Walks off in disbelief mumbling to himself while scratching his head...

Putin is worlds bet leader. U can say what u want!
I admire his personality, He deserves peace prize more than all of last 20 who got them.
