I talk to my family and friends about some of the stuff that is discussed here and they look at me like I'm just plain crazy.

It's because you are crazy.

All Time magazine issues are running the Revolution Redux story.

www.time.com...

Dunno what the problem is, unless you're an idiot and base all assumptions on the cover alone...

Silly sheep

The original post is about the cover, therefore your point is null and void.
No one opens a Time anyway.
Baaah.

In US. "My Life As A White Supremacist!"

In Europe,Asia, and other places. "Michael Bloombergs Plan For World Domination!"

People are simply questioning why "Time' felt the need to change it's cover in one country only..

I find it odd also, don't you??

Hi ATS, first post here. Anyways..

The lack of focus on Tahrir 2.0 is one thing, but I also think they're completely misdirecting our own EVolution over here, by suggesting to the 98% or at least those of whom read Time, that an anxious overworked life is the kind they want.

Counterproductive to the evolution. Anxious want and desire on the personal scale leads to exponential consumption on the societal scale.

It's time for The Great Relax people!!

s&f for bringing this to the attention of many

although this is nothing new, it reminds me ... why is it that most "fundraisers" (school associated) seem to sell these rags and only some of the worst titles ?? what is that about?

we used to sell pizzas and subs and cookies and have bake sales and raffles and all kinds of things, now, with nearly every knock comes the rag mag selections ... no wonder the school fundraisers generate less and less each year

Look at this distraction:

Clearly the agenda here is that the USA MUST NOT know about the 50 best inventions of 2010, so they're distracting them with a pro marijuana cover!

The devious bastards!!!

Chad you are proving their point by linking the front page marijuana story.
Do you really think weed has a positive effect on one's life or society in general?
That story came across very pro-marijuana and it's dangerous for people to think it causes no harm. Weed kills your motivation and makes you uninterested in the world around you.
Exactly what they want out of the sheep.
After smoking multiple times a day over 13 years and having recently stopped, I feel like I wasted so much time that could have been better spent doing virtually anything else.
You were already fighting a losing battle no point in giving more evidence against your position.
Instead of being inspired by new inventions let's just get high and play video games.
They really want Americans to be as uninformed as possible.

That's your own problem if you can't be motivated.

The real sheep are those that think the drug war is still worth fighting.

Well no, not really, medical marijuana has some positives but you wouldn't know that if you were "asleep".

And the theme of this thread is along the lines of TIME magazine keeping people "asleep"

I don't think the drug war is worth fighting but that's not the topic.
The topic is media keeping us as uninformed as possible and selling us a cover about how weed is the greatest thing ever as opposed to learning about new inventions is clearly something we shouldn't stand for.

C'mon Chadwickus. You're smarter than this. You're being far too absolute and defensive. It cannot be disputed that the variant magazine covers are being used to engineer mass opinion in select regions. The grief and futility of the war in the east is being downplayed for America and the threat of the Taliban seems to have downplayed at least once for Europe.

You're pretty much the only person who can't come to terms with the propaganda. Why are you in denial? What is it you don't want to see? Accept it and get over it because you're certainly not convincing anybody.
