For those of you in the land of Oz, you may or may not be aware that NSW 'shock jock' Kyle Sandilands yesterday let fly with a scathing below the belt barrage in reply to a news.com.au journalist who described his new TV efforts as 'a disaster'. Among other things, he called the female reporter a "piece of #" and "i will hunt you down" etc.

Sponsors have been running away in numbers due to the public backlash, with some walking away almost immediately before the storm hit. Scroll down to the base of the linked page for the transcript of the show.

We may not like the media, but this was ridiculous.

Kyle: Some fat slag on the Telegraph website, sorry, the news.com.au, has already branded it a disaster. You can tell by reading the article she just hates us, and has always hated us. She trawled through the twitter comments and pulled out all the bad comments and ran them. What a fat bitter thing you are, you deputy editor of an online thing. You’ve got a nothing job anyway. You’re a piece of #.

Cant you see that these 'negative' news stories have all been paid for. They started about a week before his new show and when he made that comment. Sandilans is about bad publicity, and look how little he has to do to get it.. Anyone can call someone a fat cow. Just ignore him, he is a product.

How little he has to do? That transcript has to be one of the worst rants i've ever heard/read in our broadcasting history. He is a product indeed, of his own making, not anyone elses. Just step back from the 'everything is manufactured' mindset for a minute hey. He is on the air because he is controversial, yes, and that can attract viewers. However he cops some bad reviews and goes psycho, on a ridiculous level.

It was a little more than calling someone a fat cow.

I’m sure if the media told you it was funny you would believe that too. I doubt you know what he is like in real life; fact is the 'bad guy' is a typical media tool. Unlike other techniques the bad guy creates controversy and hooks in almost all types of viewers. Don’t you remember the talent show judges or other angry radio broadcasters? There are plenty of examples but radio is the best because you can’t get people so easily with sex so you use controversy.
I don’t think you understand how the industry works. He is paid to be controversial so that is the image he portrays. Stop getting sucked in and watch/listen/advertise something with actual decent informational content.

Well, like most drones who assume something about another member on here, you are categorically incorrect. You're displaying the same arrogance that actually gets Kyle ratings, so congrats there.

It'd be nice to have a conversation on ATS one day without the severely paranoid urinating all over it with dilusion.

Those who get their own radio show and are confined to a little box in a building with a mic can very often act completely differently to the way they may normally in everyday life. The same way some performers are brilliant on stage but timid and withdrawn in any other scenario. The same way a mild mannered accountant can get behind the wheel of a car and become a raving, road-raging lunatic. Then go back to being placid once they step out. I will repeat myself. He is paid to be the way he is, behind a mic/on camera. Once he worked out the bad boy image drew more lucrative deals, of course he would stay that way, it's logical.

He was not manufactured, he tested the water himself and once he found his on-the-air persona to draw $$$, he kept doing it and keeps being re-contracted for that very persona.

But let's just skip all that and say he's part of the NWO machine right?

Right so actually understanding how the industry operates and not getting sucked into that is showing the same arrogance of kyle.
Perfect, whenever someone on here doesn’t know what they are talking about they try and call you paranoid or a conspiracy nut etc.. The only people who are delusional are the ones who cant see through clever marketing that plays on peoples emotions.

Yes clearly that is why he is paid. But he did not just work that out, it’s a technique that has been used almost since modern media began.
His image is manufactured because it is no different to any other 'shock jock' or arrogant character you see on your favourite TV shows.
Haha yes once again try and call me crazy. Ask anyone with half a brain about the subject and they will tell you I’m correct.
There are two possibilities here:
1. Your an ignorant who is suckered in by the media and its spin, and actually cares about this pointless crap.
Or 2. You’re advertising for his show.
Because even if you mean to that’s what you are doing. If you really don’t like him, don’t talk about this crap because as you stated above he gets paid to be controversial.

you've basically done nothing but tell me i'm wrong, yet agree with my points. I'll say it yet again. He is paid to be the way he is, we both agree on that. He was not manufactured, radio stations search for these type of on-air personas, i don't see what you're even arguing about? He was not conceived by a radio station in a test tube, and groomed with radio-related banter from age 0. He got a start, and proved to be what they're looking for. So what? And yes i'm well aware this has been going on for decades. I've been around for a few myself. Your point didn't address what the thread is about, which was how people felt about the overly defensive libel he was perpetuating on a far more aggressive scale than we're used to hearing on the airwaves/tv. Whether you consider him a 'technique' to ignore or not is irrelevant to this thread.

I'm an 'ignorant'? lol fair enough, bit of irony there. Yes all of us on ATS are so INTO the media and its total TRUTH aren't we, very perceptive there.

I think you forgot:

3. disinfo agent
4. banker
5. anarchist NWO propegator

Don't ever assume, it's not smart. Just discuss the subject matter which i have put in bold for you above.

Ok what you said goes for both of this argument; we are both expressing an opinion.
Can we at least agree that you are only fuelling the thing you clearly hate by talking about it.. If you understood it all like you claim you do, you would know this and wouldn’t have posted this thread.

Fair enough. In response to that aspect of the thread I think there are far more worrying things going on with our media then this buffoon. Kyle and his words are no different to me then any other of the crap I’ve heard come out of my tv/radio and I really think you’re angry at the big picture but attacking a small part of it, which doesn’t help anything in the long run.

...who?

I'm being facetious. I'm Australian, and know very well who he is... but my point still stands. The guy is an idiot, and a nobody... really, who cares what he says.

They should fire him and be done with it.
Problem is... even this is bringing him attention, and so they keep feeding the beast. He'll only be back for more. He's like a child; desperately seeking attention, and he doesn't care what kind of attention he gets, good or bad... he just wants to be noticed.

The guy is an ugly little tweerpy tool, always has been always will be.

I sincerely wonder where he gets his sense of over infalted self impotance from, hes not attractive, talented in anyway, informed over even clever.

Always thought he was a waste of space and always will
