Where I live I haven't met a single Spanish speaker. Are you in the Southern states? I bet you are.
You really should say where at least generally like which state.
Also please don't forget that the Spanish were the first Europeans to really conquer vast territories in the Americas, review this Wiki link : Spanish Colonization of the Americas
And look at the map. Looks like it should be expected you would run into Spanish speaking peoples being they were a large part of the imperialist take-over in the first place.
And did you know that the part not taken by the Spanish was originally Dutch? Review this wiki : Dutch Colonization of the Americas
And this is part of the equation as well: French Colonization of Americas
And if you review this final link : British Colonization of the Americas
It should become apparent to you that the English didn't show up until later on, and took many of these areas from the other empires, such as New Sweden, New Netherland, French colony of Acadia, Spanish colony of Florida, etc.
Sure Britain took land from the Natives as well, but they didn't really have power in the Americas until after the infamous defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588
