People should not have to pledge allegiance to anything at all.

So because there were "Hispanics" or "Spanish" speakers wherever you were, U.S. children should pledge to Mexico? Besides that statement being overly ignorant as is, have you forgotten that the U.S. is the most ethnically diverse country? I think you forgot that, and the fact not all Hispanics are from Mexico.

Where I live I haven't met a single Spanish speaker. Are you in the Southern states? I bet you are.
You really should say where at least generally like which state.

Also please don't forget that the Spanish were the first Europeans to really conquer vast territories in the Americas, review this Wiki link : Spanish Colonization of the Americas

And look at the map. Looks like it should be expected you would run into Spanish speaking peoples being they were a large part of the imperialist take-over in the first place.

And did you know that the many parts not taken by the Spanish were originally Dutch (Or French)? Review this wiki : Dutch Colonization of the Americas

And this is part of the equation as well: French Colonization of Americas

And if you review this final link : British Colonization of the Americas

It should become apparent to you that the English didn't show up until later on, and took many of these areas from the other empires, such as New Sweden, New Netherland, French colony of Acadia, Spanish colony of Florida, etc.

Sure Britain took land from the Natives as well, but they didn't really have power in the Americas until after the infamous defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588

Spanish Armada defeat 1588

British colonies were founded in this order :

Roanoke Colony, founded 1586, abandoned the next year. Second attempt in 1587 disappeared (also called the Lost Colony).

Cuttyhunk Island, Bartholomew Gosnold established a small fort and trading post in 1602, abandoned after one month

Virginia Company, chartered 1606 and became the Virginia Colony in 1624

London Company
Jamestown, Virginia, founded 1607.
Bermuda, these islands, located in the North Atlantic, were first settled in 1609 by the London Virginia Company; Administration passed to
The Somers Isles Company, formed by the same shareholders, in 1615. Also known officially as The Somers Isles, they remain a British overseas territory.
Citie of Henricopolis, founded in 1611 as an alternative to the swampy Jamestown site and was destroyed in the Indian massacre of 1622.

Please read history and relate it to today in a logical format.
