This is incredible!Passing Cloud is the plane of the future!

Being a pilot I can safely say that this is a dumb idea. There is already a tourist blimp running and of course many hot air balloons to ride in/on. I drop skydivers from my balloons sometimes as well. Flying any airship in the kinds of clouds that are in the picture would result in an extremely turbulent ride........

Running around with-in the clouds is a Federal violation unless The Cloud airship has instrumentation. It would also be fantastically expensive to operate as enough Helium to fly a single person in a small balloon is around $4,000 U.S. Helium is also in limited supply and it is likely in the next ten (or less) years it will be virtually unobtainable by anyone outside of the scientific research and medical communities.

Oh and then you have the ultraviolet time on a massive top surface that would require huge annual maintenance bills. Not to mention the little fact that so little of the general population will even get in a hot air balloon with a giant basket..............

Pretty drawing but a stupid idea.

What does this have to do with 2012? Nothing just like most threads in the 2012 forum.

This is a dumb idea. The factors already mentioned such as cost, helium, cold, turbulence, etc.

People brought to high altitude quickly often die due to HAPE or HACE. Nice.

That still has nothing whatsoever to do with what I stated. BTW, many technological advancements have been made without investing large amounts of money. It may take money to ramp up to large distributions, but the the discoveries do not always require huge influxes of cash. The patent offices around the world are flooded with many novel ideas each day.

I would totally ride this thing.. Hopefully a better design will be developed though.. Being in the clouds isn't what it seems.. Clouds are water-based and if your are continuously riding through water, you'll probably get sick.

Just need a better design, maybe put some kind of clear "protector" so you can still get the effect of riding in the clouds without all the moisture.

Another thing.. if someone "out of their mind" decided to find a nice vantage point and jump they'd be through lol.

I like the idea though, just needs a new design.

Misrepresenting what other people post simply says that you have trouble differentiating the truth from falsehoods. The flooding of patent offices has been going on for decades and has nothing to do with 2012.

Nice idea on a calm day - if you have arctic survival gear on, but you are going to look pretty silly when you get swept out into mid atlantanic in a storm system and tumbled upside down by turbulence.
