I see nothing wrong with how the Rothchilds or other banking families obtained their wealth be it through trickery or uncanny wisdom. Ian is a funny guy too.

Yep the BBC are definitely engaged in pro-banker propaganda. Here's another related article:

www.bbc.co.uk...

Idealistic youngsters with ethical values should opt for a banking career, says an Oxford University ethicist. Will Crouch argues that if ethical people went into finance - and then gave back a slice of their higher salaries - the impact would be greater than a career as a charity worker.

Absolulely sickening. Comparing banking to charity, these people have no morals whatsoever yet they are trying to get people with morals to sell them out.

And George Peabody was a puppet of the Rothschilds.. (I really should have included this in the OP)

Soon after he arrived in London, George Peabody was surprised to be summoned to an audience with the gruff Baron Nathan Mayer Rothschild. Without mincing words, Rothschild revealed to Peabody, that much of the London aristocracy openly disliked Rothschild and refused his invitations. He proposed that Peabody, a man of modest means, be established as a lavish host whose entertainments would soon be the talk of London. Rothschild would, of course, pay all the bills. Peabody accepted the offer, and soon became known as the most popular host in London.

Wow.. Im actually speechless..

I'll tell you whats wrong with it.. Because of their greed, deceit and power...

You are currently a prisoner of these people.. (of course..when you look at the bigger picture)

Now hang on, that isn't comparing banking to charity! It is saying if you wish for an ethical career, go into banking. Now that in itself is questionable enough but it doesn't actually compare banking to charity.

And whilst i completely disagree with that particular bit of advice, it is easy enough to see what point is being made.

So they focus on the benevolence of the Rothschilds and ignore the more nefarious aspects that the family's influence has had.

The term to stay focused on is "efficiency of philanthropy." This is the equivalent of tax breaks for expanding and perpetuating monopolies..

Greed, deceit and power are aspiring qualities in humans. If it was not for these things then the world would be in alot worse shape than it is in at the moment. I am no prisoner because I live on the edge of whatever systems have been Set. I can see the bigger picture though if you ask for evidence I will provide none.

i Had thought the documentary would be more up to date than 18th century philanthropy , while Lord Jacob De Rothschild is heavily financing the National Trust . As a major stakeholder % in this charity , what other boons then come from this increased level of control ?
An intersting proposition . Israel also has a 'heritage' for example preservation , a history etc and also a prophetic twist. It has artifacts , sites of historical interest and mannifest religious significance . Provide these overlaps provide some clues .

Whether it all belongs to him , or them , or not , a lot of the heritage we enjoy , or can enjoy , in our country Britian remains open to the public , in good condition , and run efficiently . That is something we cant complain about .

Pirates love treasure , and places to bury it . Consider what a rich mans money buys > we know it is not love nor happiness . Yet he takes interests in his spare time > but does not neglect his accumulative interests on the way there . We are already there , at archeology and with minds that consider , and hopefully the ability to bypass worry for the lower needs on the scale . Self actuation through interests is there already to us . We are as rich as hims then . We can afford philanthropy too .

THIS IS NOT PRO ROTSCHILD PROPAGANDA

It is interesting however the perfect timing for this to pop up and i bet it was in the works only since Occupy movements started popping up like wild mushrooms...

My opinion is that this is just a documentary to deny what all the protesters ... protest ... about and to show ordinary people how "good" the bankers were and still are.

ok... I'm definitely going to have to check this out because although some may indeed be good...

I wanna know which one's are helping us tap into better supplies of energy we could be using because common sense will tell the common person that they are PREVENTING that, not facilitating it.

and that would be...whatcha callit...yeah... evil.

That means that they don't even give a crap about their own grandkids yet they keep having them. Interesting.

Who knows.... I'd like to think they are trying... let's see.

One of the BBC Trustees, Anthony Fry, served his time with Rothschilds right up to 1996 when he took up a position with Lehman Brothers

BBC Trustee - Anthony Fry

Another, Mehmuda Mian, is a lawyer specialising in commercial and professional indemity litigation. In other words she is a lacky of the insurers.

BBC Trustees - Mehmuda Mian

The biggest insurer operating in commercial and professional insurance? Sunny....Sun Alliance
A Rothchilian enterprise.

This is a sloppy attempt by the BBC to rebalance the negative views of the public towards bankers....the word 'banker' is presently used as a substitute for the proverbial %anker round here....they are more despised than lawyers and estate agents combined.

Do you think a programme about ancient history, in view of recent history, will persuade you that they're simply misunderstood philanthropists?

I will gladly watch the series and filter all the crap as I watch , I don't have a TV licence , does that mean I cannot have a view BBC , I await the knock at the door argggghhhhhh. Robert Peston is fascinating to observe , his command of studio time and the bloody volume which he speaks is like a bad Monty Python caricature, sadly he is not in the series, but funny guy Ian Hislop is. All roads lead to Rothchild.

What tripe and blatant propaganda. To me it just looks like garbage funded by bankers trying to avoid the noose for treason. The next revolution may not go so well for them as the French revolution did apparently.

If the Rothschilds are so damned philanthropic they can do something altruistic for mankind in general, forgive all loans, dissolve all central banks and help put regulations in place that will never allow this kind of financial malfeasance and outright fraud to occur again. Let countries manage their own finances which gives them the ability to succeed or fail on their own terms.

Cheers - Dave

If they were really upto good deeds only they wouldn't really want to be associated with financial institutions then would they after all teh bad press they get?
But then again one of the Rothchilds DOES sit on the Bank of England Monetary Policy Commitee.

Of course it'll be propaganda, it's the BBC. What else do you expect? They've got a show they're plugging at the moment, looks like an anti occupy type thing. They're going to show us where our money goes and how our goverment spends it. I wonder if they omit all of the embezzlement and out right theft of public funds.......I'm certainly not expecting anything to be revealed in the show. It'll be a nicely trotted out bit of pro goverment propaganda, becasue this is what the bbc do, it's what they are there for.

Fronted by Ian Hislop..... hmm I think that lays bare the obsessive conspiracy ATS's have about the BBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the news article on this when I was browsing the BBC website just!

The title alone made me laugh in sorta contrived way.

'When Bankers Do Good'...

What people need to remember is that giving a million when you have many billions is equivalent to a normal person giving a hundred, its nothing special. When you scam your wealth out of the public and give back a little bit here and there you are merely trying to hide your actions.
I think this doco is timely, the system is about to fall and I wouldn’t be surprised if soon they try to convince us that we need 'noble' people like the Rothschild’s to save humanity. Media is always about instilling ideas in your head before they happen. If you watch the news closely you will see puff pieces on subject’s days or weeks before a big story comes out on that subject. Example: A celebrity launches a new product that somehow makes the news, but a few days before you hear a puff piece on them. It happens every week and I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something from the big bankers soon.

Well it said about one of those bankers that he never spent more than 1% of his earnings. He did give it all to charity when he died though.

It was quite an interesting program. It definitely glossed over the Rothschilds history, but what I found interesting was Rothschilds opposition to the taxation methods of Lloyd George to raise money for services for and the elderly. It sounds like the Tea Party have been parroting the arguments of Rothschild bankers all this time. That charity should replace taxation as the means to pay for services for the poor.

I have to say that after defending the basis of the programme on here yesterday, i was frankly exhausted by my toddler last night and totally forgot to watch the programme! Was it any good and was it focused on the philanthropy rather than anything else?
