and which is a CIA/NSA front to track ppl .. get their IP and BAM.. your being tracked indefinitely ..

there are some very distrubing wordage being used in that article.. such as ..

"He was a reader of al Qaeda's slick online magazine Inspire

Um, I didn't notice this earlier, well I did I just didn't pay it any heed.....why the F are they calling it a "slick" magazine? what the heck? Is that some sort of MKUltra catchword? Slick is a compliment, right? It's either a catchword or they are complimenting Al Qaeda...

I forget, it's Al CIAduh.

Well obviously they are doing it to great effect to prevent future acts of "terrorism" in the states. This is a win for the good guys. Is that OK if I call our federal law enforcement good guys? Because I do believe in the whole that they are and mean well. Personally I am happy they got this guy early, as he intended to do harm to troops and law enforcement.

If you live your life as a good person without ill intent towards others, you will be okay with knowing that everything you do in public, or everything you say within the vicinity of a smart phone could be monitored, and maybe, if you're lucky and say a few words that you ought not be saying, or buying supplies you ought not be buying, you are one of those who have been checked into.

Accept it. It's getting tougher and tougher to be a bad guy in the states and I am glad this is the case.

Mind you, I don't like the TSA, nor the Patriot Act, but I do like knowing loss of life can be prevented with their uses.

Live every day, and speak every word as if "he" is listening - If you're concerned about these facts in the first place, then there may indeed be an issue.

Adapt and overcome.

As long as you keep to yourself they don't care what garbage you read.

It's only when you start to speak out publicly about your views that they get antsy.
If you wanna be on a watch list make sure to talk about revolution a lot,
go on extremist websites, post a lot of crap on line that'll get you noticed quickly,
it'll get you put up as a priority. Thankfully no one has yet
committed anything sinister beyond bitching and moaning on the internet after too many beers.
Not enough for them to have a pretext to jail you on suspicion
of home grown terrasoraptor cloning. On the other hand,
if ur stocking on things that would aid in committing
your ramblings of an armed insurrection on the freakin' internet
then you'll definitely get the just attention you seek.
Until then, as long as you're not named Muhammad
and brown skinned, you have nothing to worry about.
Just don't stockpile an arsenal cuz the ATF is gonna pay you a visit,
or any other alphabet organization for that matter.
They gonna confiscate it all, unless you real dumb and talk bout researched facts,
then you get to spend decades in jail for thought crime.
Well, if the jail don't fly they'll try the nutter house.
Gotta be crazy to have your own educated opinions ya know?

They're after religious middle eastern fanatics
because that's what the propaganda machine is pushing for.
Start worrying when the media starts pushing for the arrest of home grown terrasoraptors.
Then comes the time when you regret ever visiting and posting on
conspiracy websites.

Seriously?

"They" don't give two greasy hoots about what you do. They aren't "watching you" unless you are publicly and vocally seeking to make bombs (buying supplies, downloading plans, talking about it on forums, etc.), trying to make connections with violent people, trying to get the blueprints of federal buildings, etc. etc.

Stop being so paranoid - your life is most likely very boring, and of no practical concern to those who monitor your communications. If you are planning something revolutionary, keep it to yourself - it has a better chance of succeeding.

If you criticize power institutions or their figureheads and the wars they fight, your lack of privacy, a biased media, and so on - you're just like a majority of other people. You're small potatoes. Yes, technology is monitored. Don't share anything personal online, period. Don't do anything stupid like Google "How do I make a napalm-filled hat, and what is Obama's headsize?"

My point is, don't worry about this stuff too much (unless you're part of an unfortunate group of racially profiled "Others"). On principle, it sucks that some powerful groups feel they can't trust society and feel that humanity must be monitored - I agree that this is not what freedom, rights, or human decency and dignity consists of.

BUT, if you:
a) can't conceivably and concretely change the course of events that you find oppressive, and
b) aren't doing anything dangerous or obviously suspicious, then why worry so much about this stuff?

And if you actually CAN do a), keep your plans away from modern technology so black choppers don't show up at your door before you put your plan into action

edit on 20-11-2011 by pforkp because: (no reason given)

So you're saying to bend over and take it like a $%^*&? Pretty long post to say something so simple.

then why worry so much about this stuff?

I already answered this...because of what comes next. Because someday soon, they will come for anyone who even speaks out against our government. I'll keep speaking out until that day comes, then you'll never see me again.

There was a time that I was concerned about them watching and listening not that I was doing anything, It is just the idea that there is a sick voyeur out there getting off on your personal life.

They don't spy on you unless you make the watch list.

Wait till vans start following you around cause you bitch and moan
on the phone with your friends about # too much.

Government waste of money when it could go into better things like
education and health care.

People who have money don't wanna do harm to anyone because they're busy
with all the entertainment available in the modern day and age.
Basically, why fight anything when life is so good?

People who wanna cause revolutions and who are pissed off are too broke to do anything,
they're usually pissed off because they're broke to begin with.

Catch 22.

All that government spying is a waste of precious dollars.

Just tonight I saw a commercial for my local phone/cable company advertising a new service to find lost cell phones. You can log in, and it will show you exactly where your phone is on a map. Yet another reason I'm glad I choose not to carry around a cell phone.

I just recently set my homepage to startpage.com... since I don't like google keeping a record of my search history.

Can you even buy new cars now that don't come with OnStar?

Good! I want them to watch me. I don't have anything really to hide. I'm patriotic to my nation, and to my government. Just not the people in power at this time, or much for the last decade. Hell I've said it on multiple occasions that I'm beginning to actually want a military dictatorship. At least they'll do something. Let them hear that. Because hell, they got to get working.

Call me a hypocrite for not having any problems with working with them in my future, but hell, why stand against the strongest entity on planet Earth?

I'll attempt to give an answer on this question. I prefer to address the human condition .

Why do they "watch " others ? If you think about it , we all tend to watch others . We tend to watch the gossip about others . Isn't that what so called news is and gossip magazines .
Its all about watching someone else and then reporting on it .

I casually watch people when Im out , Watch them play , watch them do whatever . Why do I watch others .?

So the state watching even greater pool of people is purely an extension of our own watching others .

The state watches because ? Its scared ? I dont really think it is . I think personally, that its just habbitual and they / we virtually have no choice in this matter of watching as we / they , are under the control of the material nature that forces us to do all sorts of stupid little things to distract us from what is truely important !!

Self realization is important and that takes introspection . Looking in not out .

If they wasted money to educate people, those people would stop being SHEEP and protest more.

All that government spying is a waste of precious dollars.

Oh yes and its a LOT of dollars. Most people know the FBI NSA and CIA, but I have cataloged over 120 spook agencies that spy on you

DIA NGA NRO IAO DHS to mention a few... just how many spooks do we need anyway

My favorite is the IAO

Its people like you that have Ben Franklin rolling over in his grave. The TSA has done NOTHING to stop any bombers. They even let guns slip by. They are too busy felling up and strip searching children and old ladies while they steal your valuables, play god and even rape. Think I am kidding?

Just google TSA Agent Arrest and see just what kind of people are keeping you safe

As for the "Patriot" act that is for hassling patriots. They are already stopping random cars on the highway (Tennessee)

But I guess some people prefer the safety of that shepherd while he is fleecing them

They are watching all of you.

And you're exactly right about TSA people. They are not stopping anyone remotely dangerous, just the easy touches like children and elderly people. They are jobsworths and do not contribute to the security of the country at all.

It's the same at airports in the UK. Same type of people, same type of incompetence. The role just seems to attract a certain type of power hungry, small minded idiots.

Basically, it just needs to be approved by the president and it's a go.

It has to be re-introduced in Congress, passed by both houses (it only passed one in 2007), and then approved by the President. Were that to happen, the law wouldn't do what you said it does. It would establish a commission and a university center to investigate radicalization; it wouldn't make "speaking out against our government ... illegal."

They've been watching intently since at least the 90's.

And listening, and reading.

I guess the bottom line is:

DON'T say anything in an online forum that you'll regret later.

Make sure you are NOT advocating violence or law breaking.

Be aware that your oddball, pervert, fetish porn collection tastes, and other spanking monkey tastes are NOT going to be a private affair....especially if you frequent websites like ATS!
