Canada ready to assist in Syria, MacKay says

While any intervention in Syria would have to follow a series of United Nations sanctions, Canada's armed forces are "prepared for all inevitabilities," Defence Minister Peter MacKay said Sunday.

Prepared for another campaign of bombing innocent people into oblivion you mean Mr. Mckay?

But, speaking from the Halifax International Security Forum, he added that "Canada has certainly a great deal of ability to lend support in a situation, as we saw in Libya."

Just like Libya huh?

The defence minister said he finds it encouraging that some of Syria's military have been defecting rather than follow orders to attack civilians. The UN estimates more than 3,500 people have been killed in the government crackdown on dissent.

Encouraging? He pretty much just supported rebel attacks. Hypocrite much?

"That is exactly what we wanted to prevent and did prevent in Libya," he said.

Libya wasn't prevention, it was an offensive invasion under the false disguise of liberation and Syria's next.

Canadian politicians have been beating those war drums lately and it seems to be getting worse. A few days ago our politicians decided to publicly declare we support Israel including a strike on Iran if necessary.

Canadian DM to discuss Iran strike plans with Barak

Canada, kiss your peace keeping nation identity good bye. It's been long dead.

First Iran and now Syria? And I think I read about Russia moving warships into that area? (Don't hold me to that, I'll look for the thread) It sure seems like a lot of countries are preparing and hinting at a new war... Great, just what we need.

As soon as "all mighty Israel" goes on the offence all the loyal followers will soon follow. And there was just a thread about new violence breaking out in Egypt. We could be seeing some bad news in the soon future..

S&F

EDIT: Yeah, Russia moved some warships into Syrian waters, here's the thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

You're right about the Russian warships. There was a thread on it.

It angers me to see my country participating in such evil.

Last thing we need is Russia aiming nukes towards Canada

(I admit that this is an extreme but possible exaggeration)

ETA: I see you edited your post to show the warship thread

The so called leaders of the world have gone totally mad. I am not sure which is worse the insane rulers or the people that are following insane orders. Which actually is the craziest. People out there just tell them no. I won't go and no I won't be an enabler to your insanity.

I personally have relatives in the Canadian military and up until Harper won his majority I was confident that Canada would never put it's soldiers in harms way unless it was a respectful mission. Now it is clear that our troops are nothing but sacrificial lambs for the corporate clowns who run this planet.

In Canada we have a problem where our people blindly support our troops without truly looking into what our troops are doing. As I said I have family who will be fighting these wars but no way will I support their mission. I wish them the best but I will never support these modern day financial crusades.

Canada reminds me much of Russia. While Russia has trying to appear active on it's international policy , Canada has just woke up to get involved in the actions.

While the US starts wars to take beneficiaries from them , other countries wait around to take beneficiary after US has taken.

It reminds me of Jungle in the 21st century. While internet is invented and people get out of earth atmosphere . They are savage as all the new ages. Maybe more savage.

I'm not sure if you're Canadian or not, but since I'm Canadian I have noticed the change in our stance when it comes to war since the Conservatives have had power. Even more since the Majority government is in place.

Back during the Most recent Iraq invasion Jean Chretien said no and only sent troops to Afghanistan after NATO found a loophole saying we had to go. Even then we kept our role as a peace keeping mission mostly training police and army.

The same policy remained under Paul Martin.

As soon as the Canadians got sick of the Liberal scandals we voted in Harper and the Conservatives everything changed. These people amount to the Canadian version of George Bush Sr. or Jr., take your pick.

Harper has always been a stooge who does what he is told. He just acts on it more because he has a majority government with little stopping him from making any choice that he wants.

Russia can quickly reaim the topol-m's and RS-24s by sending coordinates via Glonass on the russian general staff's command.

Canada should be prepared to hand over Alberta and the northern region to Russia if it continues this BS.

Russia has thousands of nukes, uber powerful torsional weapons, massive underground cities and thousands of bunkers and the world's best BW and Chemical weapons programs. Even today Our chemical weaponry would decimate NATO's conventional forces and we could force NATO to go nuclear.

So like how is Russia similiar to Canada?

Are you Syrian? I'd be interested in hearing more in depth on how you see your situation then, because I have Syrian friends, and they claim the corruption is so bad there, they pray that something can be done. They say that people are starving and being oppressed in a serious way. I wonder if it is a matter of different regions in Syria or what which makes your views so different on what is happening there?

They aren't. Our hockey players and program are vastly superior to Russia's.

As to your post, no one in their right mind would use biological weapons. That said, I'm not too sure Putin is in his right mind.

No. I'll tell you who should be prepared though. Russia. Because if their troops even set foot on western soil, them along with China will have NATO imperialists up their collective butts.

I'm Canadian, not Syrian. I'm not sure if I did anything to give you the impression I was. Sorry if I confused you somehow.

Now that you mention it though, there is another thread I'm posting on where a member claims to have family in Syria and that the Syrian people are happy under Assad. I told them I have never heard anyone say anything good about Assad, ever. Let me know if you want the link. Maybe you can ask them about Syria.

I kind of hinted that I wanted to know more of why they have this opinion and haven't received a response yet. I started a thread about how the uprising is most likely sponsored by the West and they claimed to know this as truth.

Yes the NATO conventional forces will have to survive our combined conventional and chemical weapon assault.
Once its goes nuclear our HPM narrowband weaponry onboard satellites and EM weaponry will neutralize the incoming tridents Plus we have a massive civil defense network which will enable survival of millions of russians.

millions of russian will die ,but it will pure genocide in the West ,once we use our bio and nuclear capabilities.
We will survive and win . and Krasnyl Zvezda shall reign on the planet.

Like the Great comrade stalin said 'you cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs'

death of 5-70 million russians is nothing compared to the total destruction of the West.
