Never again will I wish I could reply to a post! Finally made an account :)

I've been coming here at lease five times a week for the past 3 or 4 months, and I've finally finished making my account! I chose to commit to this site because of the great information and the people -- People from all walks of life come here to share and discuss knowledge. I've read threads and comments made by people that say they are part of the top 1% financial bracket to people that are overseas to people that barely have internet access.

I really like how the members here are not afraid to call someone out...sometimes instantly. i.e: "Pictures? Proof? Source?" I like that! I've been surprised at the ferocity of the moderators these past few weeks, but everything has a reason whether we understand it or not.

The main reason I committed to finish making an account/profile here is because there has been far too many times where I wanted to post a reply on a thread but couldn't. Now I can share my experience and knowledge with others who are interested and in return I receive a better level of access to the site, and the ability to communicate with fellow members. It's a win-win and you don't see too many of those nowadays.

I am 28 years old, been with the same woman since 2000, and have a 5 month old daughter. I was in the Marines for 5 years, but those days are over. I know I must stick to the topic of the forum I am in so I will make this short. I've seen a few posts lately that made me sad and/or upset. Not everyone that is/was in the military is out to get you or loves going to Iraq/Afghanistan. Sure there are some, but not all. I've been over there three times and I want anyone who cares to know this: 95% of the guys out there with me just wanted to go back to their old life. Yes, I am glad that I went in the Marines...but I am ecstatic that it's over. I didn't think I would make it.

Anyways, I suppose that is all for now. I am looking forward to speaking with you. Like I said earlier I've been coming here at least 5 times a week for quite some time and am familiar with the current "mood" of the forums. I thank you all for reading this and I wish you the best. See you soon!

Thank you both! Sincerely....I mean that. All I did was look at my post and think "Wow....I finally made my own post. I wonder what they will say?" Man, I refreshed the page and already had two welcomes! I am all fired up now! I better go to some of the topics I've been reading and give them some input to think about. Thanks again!!!

Thank you DestinyOne! I checked out your profile and I think the tobacco seeds are a great idea! I was thinking liquid nicotine but that runs out, no matter how much you have it will run out. When seeds are planted and cared for, you get a product and more seeds! Thanks again!

I wish I could look you in the eye when I say this, but this will have to do. I 100% understand exactly what you are saying.

One of the piece of knowledge I've picked up on my walk is that one should never be set in their ways and never be attached to the "facts" in their mind. I am happy to say that I am very correctable. You understand what I mean by that, but for anyone who doesn't, it means that no matter what you know, there is always more knowledge to either strengthen it or shatter it.

A personal example for me would be perspective. It hit me when I was 17. I could see a small part of myself in everyone I've ever encountered. A small but significant piece of the puzzle.

There are some extremely gifted people on this site. I couldn't be happier that I joined.

Welcome from another newbie -- I also hung around for months b4 joining. ATS is the best of its kind and has certainly engrossed me for hours of good reading and is the first place I head after finishing work - luckily I work from home, so it's not a long journey. Looking forward to your posts!

Hey Relentless. it is good to meet you and welcome to the forum! I am new here also, but, like you, so far I really like the intentional policy of openminded discussion here, in the forum threads. You are for sure right about keeping an open mind, especially regarding the typical subjects contemplated on this forum. I too am looking forward to learning, and to getting my mind "corrected" every now and then!
