I live in western Washington. Didn't feel anything. Then again this happened in central Washington, near Omak.
So far no reports of any damage.

I'm in the South Sound and I also didn't feel anything...

So I probably shouldn't use this thread for these comments, but...

Do the rest of you folks ever feel like the Pacific NorthWest is the last place in America (especially coastal) that hasn't had to deal with any of the extreme weather, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods that the rest of the US has?
Maybe a little radiation here and there

,But nothing I would consider an overt catastrophe or disaster?

Pardon me for saying so, and even more so if i should leave it out of this thread, but are we getting way overdue to draw the short stick?

What do you guys think?

OP this is a non event and let me tell you why. I'm freaking starving and the stomach won't cease growling. Just a hungry Domo.

I'm in Western Washington so didn't feel a thing. Thanks for the heads up though. Everyone I know is a bit jumpy about 'the big one'.

I live in Seattle.....and since this quake was north of Okanogan WA....I didn't feel anything.

www.pnsn.org...

I remember (of course) the 6.8 quake we had in 2001.....I had just gotten home from going out for coffee.....and I was on the phone talking to a friend....I stood in the frame of the doorway....and called upon the Angels of heaven to intervene....I did this very loudly...lol. I live in a building that is an historical landmark in Seattle...(it is almost 100 years old) and fortunately the building had been retro-fitted in 1995....there was not much damage at all.

Ok...folks I know I am rambling ...so I'll stop...(for now) lol.

It seems to me that you live in a really great location....as far as natural disasters go. You have some really good potatoes too!

Yes! Washington State seems to dodge all natural disasters...at least in the recent past. That 6.8 in 2001 was big news around here, but it really wasn't all that bad, I do not think anyone even died. Overdue? Maybe but you could always just look at it as a safe place to live and nothing to worry about, not even any deadly creepy crawlies, save for the occasional brown recluse...floods sure, but I like water....nothing we can't handle...Sasquatch and ufo hotspot, but that is a plus in my book.

I've heard rumors about 'The Big One'. Haven't seen anything that helps it's case. But part of that was Rainier/ Baker blowing their top off. So whatever....

Really? 4.6? I take bigger dumps than that.

Also, I didn't feel it at all. My guess is because earthquakes happen all the time and some are completely insignificant.

Bonney Lake resident here and of course I didn't feel anything. I just think it's cool to see a thread filled with Wasingtonians! But I would agree - we are likely way overdue for something.

You're under 10 miles from where I live. I usually say Seattle because its close and known. Weird.

Do you remember the wilkeson arch coming down after the 2001 quake?

Hey there fellow Washingtonians!

I WAS AT THE EPICENTER OF THIS QUAKE WHEN IT HAPPENED! (in downtown Okanogan)

Pretty big stuff around these parts as nothing EVER happens here....... great article about it in our small town paper...

I have lived here nearly all of my life and felt only one other small quake in 1997.

Cheers!
