By Reuters and Haaretz U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta warned on the eve of talks with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak that a strike on Iran could harm the world economy, saying the U.S. focus was on diplomatic pressure and sanctions. "There are going to be economic consequences to that (an Iran strike), that could impact not just on our economy but the world economy," Panetta told reporters traveling with him on Thursday to Canada, where he will attend a security forum and hold bilateral talks with Barak. In an interview with Army Radio, Barak warned on Thursday that the Iranian nuclear program is not aimed solely at Israel, and urged world leaders to impose further sanctions on the Islamic republic. Speaking with Army Radio from Canada, Barak said Israel is currently struggling to recruit the international community to stand firm against Iran and impose concrete sanctions in order to stop its nuclear program.

Yes it will hurt the world economy which in return hurt the pocket books of the corporations that are fueled by the economy. For example there is more gasoline and less driving and more people out of work but the price for oil is still on the rise and they find every excuse possible to justify it. i.e. There is too much demand and a shortage OR an attack in egypt has speculaters worried OR people aren't driving as much so we have to raise the price to offset the loss of revenue. What a joke. thx for the thread op Stars and flag

Well that was a real "duh" moment..

All wars hurt someones economy (except the military complex) and an attack on Iran would spread well beyond Iran's borders for sure..

But since when has putting the sheeple into more debt ever bothered our leaders??

So if THEY are telling us going to war would be a bad thing, and we aren't doing it...
We better stockpile food, cause the war is a lot closer than you think...
Chances are good, it's no longer an if, but rather a when...

even if the attack somehow didn't kill anyone or cause an ecological disaster, what would happen?

citing instability the price of oil would rise, the oil companies would never waste a crisis, a chance to fleece the customers.

the hedge funds would play the commodity markets, they already get 20% of what you pay for gas.
the hedge funds would play the commodity markets and the price of food would rise causing civil unrest.

as usual, our dysfunctional governments would be helpless to deal with financial hooligans.

and one more useless war could trigger ows into a huge movement worldwide.
i'd love to see at least a one week worldwide general strike if our dysfunctional governments can't stand up to any of these criminals fleecing the population to death.

"There are going to be economic consequences to that (an Iran strike), that could impact not just on our economy but the world economy," Panetta told reporters

So is the code to TPTB...

Is he really telling TPTB that everything is all setup to crash the world economy and implement their plans to put us in a position for a one world currency and government.

The quote above should have been considered before going to war with IRAQ. Why is it being stated in this case now? What's the difference. We're still taking about weapons of mass destruction that haven't even been proven to exist. Are we really going to fall for it again???
