Can someone provide a scientific interpretation on how this may have occured? I'd appreciate your help on gaining a better understanding of this, whether it be manipulated by geo-engineering, natural, or the camera lens. Trolls, stay under the bridge. Thanks in advance for your mature insight.

Yeah, sorry i left my bird up there.
But with all seriousness i think it was the air pressure up there, sudden changes and the pressure and wind changes, its all rare. I think
I can't even think of a plausible explanation of it.

This is natural.
Its to do with the condensation in the cloud vaporising and evaporating back and forth. I think

Trolls - as in people who may disagree with you?

I think it's sunlight shifting around through the clouds as it sets. Looks like layers of atmospheric gases interacting with light

Pretty sure there's already been a few threads on this video too

Thank you. If it is a natural occurrence, how common is it (at least in your understanding)?

gosh.....I think it looked like 'something' MUST have been messing with it, like a hovering helicopter? a UFO? that was very strange indeed.........such SCARY times we are in

As far as I know its probably somewhere between common and rare. Would have a lot of variables such as temperature, cloud density, type of cloud, amount of sun, location etc.. So its something that would need ideal conditions to happen. Probably right at the temperature where water evaporates.

Is it a common occurrence in your understanding? Regardless, it looks amazing.

No, a troll as in someone whose purpose is to illicit an emotional response. In order for someone to disagree with me, I would first have to present an opinion. I would just like to learn more about it. But I digress.

Was posted before. It's a moving sun dog. The sunlight is moving hitting off different parts or the clouds. Something along those lines.

Is a sun dog is always in the pushup position?

No matter how you put it in 30 years I have never seen such a thing, and I trvaveled almost everywhere on this planet, sorry, untill I see one I don't think it's a common phenomenon nor that it's a natural phenomenon. Have any of you actually seen one to state that it's a common event? has any scientist actually come out and show how this phenomenon happens? nope

Oh THAT!! That.......that's just a glitch in the matrix. Nothing more.

In all my years I have never seen anything like that! This has to be some type of camera lens reflection. If it is a natural phenomenom I would dare to say it is a very RARE one. But hey clouds are odd things. Have you ever tried to make the cloud into a shape with your mind and have it succeed? Just as bizarre

Not that I am im disbelief but as far as my opinion is, those hardly look like natural movements. Looks very jolty, jumpy, and even.. "glitchy", if you will, almost like the video has undergone post-processing. I hope I am wrong though, as that is pretty interesting.

Common Occurrence?

The we should see that all the time.

I've never seen cloud ever act like that.

It's seems like one of those pulsating orbs going in and out of the cloud like that.

That is not a common occurrence and that is not normal.

Was this being filmed through glass? My first impression was that it was some type of light reflecting off of the glass that the camera was shooting through. If that is not the case, then there is only one other logical explanation, and that is swamp gas. lol.

Well, straight after viewing the video but before reading any other replies, it looks to me exactly like there was some water on the sunroof of the car and the distortion was caused by the camera moving slightly while filming through it and refracting the light.

On second viewing it looks like what I would expect to see if someone set up a water dropper to make sure a tiny amount of water was dripped in the same spot while filming from below. The effect is on the glass, not in the sky.

No dropper is visible, so the effect may have been achieved in a slightly different manner, it is definitely on the glass in my opinion. Maybe I'll give it a go myself

Maybe rewatch the video with this in mind and see what you think?

Explained (by a meterologist) here:

blogs.discovermagazine.com...

The answer lies in this: ice crystals, especially long needles, tend to become aligned with the ambient electric field.
So what you are seeing is sunlight reflecting off ice crystal faces that are constantly being oriented by the developing electric field just above the [cumulonimbus] top. Then there is a discharge in the cloud, and the field collapses momentarily, and the crystals begin to realign again. Then this just keeps happening over and over.

Aha! I hadn’t thought of that. The outer surface of ice crystals can hold a static electric charge, similar to what happens when you rub a glass rod with a cloth, or rub a balloon on your hair and stick it to the wall. When placed in an electric field, the charges feel a force on them, and align themselves along the field. So all the ice crystals above that cloud top are aligned one way in the field. Then the field snaps (maybe due to lightning releasing the energy) and then reforms. The ice crystals change their orientation suddenly when that happens.
So why does it look like the entire shape is changing? That’s because ice crystals can act like little prisms, bending light when it passes through them (or they can act like mirrors, with light reflecting off their flat surfaces). When they float in the air you get all sorts of astounding and beautiful formations like sun dogs, halos, sun pillars, and more. These all depend on the angle between you, the Sun, and the orientation of the crystal in between.

It's quite amazing to look at. In a way it's similar to a magnetic field being revealed by iron filings, except the field keeps changing with lightning.

Do you believe that this is what the video shows? Personally, as can be seen, I believe that has a much more mundane explanation.

I think it is. The camera moves all over, and the clouds does not change in sync with those movements, and I see nothing to indicate there's anything between the camera and the cloud.

And it looks like the other examples. See:
