It`s the out of control governments we should be protesting against.
They are taking away our rights.
Attacking, Invading and Occupying other countries.
Working alongside the corrupt bankers and Big Corporations and Elite.

Right, and who occupies Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.? Appointed and elected Officials from Government, that's who.

No it is really not a good call. Again the Fed is private property. How are you going to demand your rights while infringing upon the rights of others, no matter who it is? In my opinion, that would be a hypocritical message and would quickly and easily put others off to your cause. Much the same way the current strategy puts people off, ie; Those who live by the parks and have to deal with the late night noise, defecating in the street, and camping on their own property.

Private property? oh my mistake, it had "federal" in the name....

Guess what, THE NEW GOVERNMENT IS FORECLOSING ON THE FED, WE OWN THAT LAND NOW.

Same sh#t different thread.

Time and time again I read "they should be protesting at the White House... the FED etc."
yet, I don't see the critics protesting at those locations themselves.

"The group lost my support entirely now due to..."
Did your country lost your support too?

"I have yet to hear a clearly defined message..."
Where is your clearly defined message? Where is your protest?

"I won't join a protest where the majority are leftists..."
Maybe that's the reason why it is mostly a leftist-movement?

"OWS is not a real movement... the Tea Party is..."
Yeah, where is this Tea Party?

All those partisan disputes seem very silly from the outside.

sheer stupidity to have a revolution without a clear plan for after.
the only thing that will come of it without a plan is a rapid descent into chaos leading to complete disintigration of the country. your too divided amongst yourselves to be of any real effectiveness.

Ahh well some have to learn the hard way.. Will leave you to play revolutionary..

This is America. Our founding fathers did it and we are about to do it again.

It says it on our dollar bill. "IN GOD WE TRUST" - and thus God guides us.

And this boys and girls is what happens when you dont take the time to actually READ the OP. No where in my OP is there mention of a Tea Party. No where in my OP is mention of a leftist movement. No where in the OP does it say, "Oh this group lost my support blah blah blah"

This thread is about solutions. This has been a big weekend for Occupy, they have lost their ground and lost their encampments. What do you suggest they do once the city has put up a fence around the park and they can not get in? GO Occupy the subways? Not a good idea, not tactically and certainly not from the standpoint of NOT infringing on the rights of others. For all you said in your post, what you do not offer is a solution. Just the same old complaining that we see from every thread. So I guess "Same sh#t different thread" clearly applies here, but it applies to your post, not the OP. I can go in any thread and see posters who bitch and moan and complain and offer absolutely NOTHING in return.

I apologise MrWendal.
I didn't reply directly to your opening post and I didn't mean to attack you or your post specifically.
My ranting was about the partisan dispute between people in threads about OWS throughout ATS in general.
I should have taken more time to write a better, more sophisticated post.

You are absolutely right.
I didn't contribute anything towards a solution aside from "stop the freakin partisan BS it makes you look stupid from an outside point of view".

Someone needs to start pushing an Occupy Pilgrimage. Like for real, pushing it to some of the mouth pieces for each Occupy city.

I am really sold on this idea. I am not saying I understand Occupy Wall Street. I am not even saying this has to be a part of this current Occupy movement, but I think OWS has shown us the way to get something done in this day and age.

People should protest by Occupying Capital Hill!

Hey, if Occupy really gets numbers...and manages to pull something off despite scheduling that excludes college students and working adults across the nation...
....How well do you know D.C.? (grin)

There are some aspects to our nation's capital you'll never seen on a tourist map..and it isn't so much secret as it is NEVER advertised or talked about. How many people are aware of the fact there are not one..but THREE separate subway systems with their own levels of security and membership for riders permitted to even see a train in more than a passing blur? There is also a MASSIVE complex under the Treasury building that branches out to reach most of the Government district area of D.C..

I'm still so pissed I could spit about Occupy picking their dates here as if EXCLUDING full time college students was the point...but I still want to see this succeed. Regardless of anything else...they have to succeed if D.C. is FINALLY going to get the focus it's needed from day 1.

I *KNOW* I'm not the only one with real helpful information about lesser known facts about our Nation's Capital....How about everyone else start sharing and give Occupy their best chance of success against odds already stacked so hard as to give Atlas himself a coronary. If Occupy finally moves like they MEAN it....and they LOSE...we've lost everything, people. The Government will assume (rightly so) that it was our last collective shot at protest and unrest..and they have little to fear after it's gone. This HAS to work...or game over.

Declaration of The Occupation Of New York City :
As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.

As one people, formerly… divided by the color of our skin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or lack thereof, political party and cultural background, we acknowledge the reality: that there is only one race, the human race, and our survival requires the cooperation of its members; that our system must protect our rights, and upon corruption of that system, it is up to the individuals to protect their own rights, and those of their brethren; that a democratic government derives its just power from the people, but corporations do not seek consent to extract wealth from the people and the Earth; and that no true democracy is attainable when the process is determined by economic power. We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.

They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give CEO’s exorbitant bonuses.
They have perpetuated gender inequality and discrimination in the workplace.
They have poisoned the food supply, and undermined the farming system through monopolization.
They have continuously sought to end the rights of workers to negotiate their pay and make complaints about the safety of their workplace.
They have held students hostage with tens of thousands of dollars of debt on education, which is itself a human right.
They have consistently outsourced labor and used that outsourcing as leverage to cut workers’ healthcare and pay.
They have influenced the courts to achieve the same rights as people, with none of the culpability or responsibility.
They have spent millions of dollars on legal teams that look for ways to get them out of contracts in regards to health insurance.
They have sold our privacy as a commodity.
They have used the military and police force to prevent freedom of the press.
They have deliberately declined to recall faulty products endangering lives in pursuit of profit.
They determine economic policy, despite the catastrophic failures their policies have produced and continue to produce.
They have donated large sums of money to politicians supposed to be regulating them.
They continue to block alternate forms of energy to keep us dependent on oil.
They continue to block generic forms of medicine that could save people’s lives in order to protect investments that have already turned a substantive profit.
They have purposely covered up oil spills, accidents, faulty book keeping, and inactive ingredients in pursuit of profit.
They purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.
They have perpetuated colonialism at home and abroad.
They have participated in the torture and murder of innocent civilians overseas.
They continue to create weapons of mass destruction in order to receive government contracts.
They have participated in a directly racist action by accepting the contract from the State of Georgia to murder Troy Davis.
They have profited off of the torture, confinement, and cruel treatment of countless animals, and actively hide these practices.

To the people of the world: We, the New York City General Assembly occupying Wall Street in Liberty Square, urge you to assert your power. Exercise your right to peaceably assemble; occupy public space; create a process to address the problems we face, and generate solutions accessible to everyone.

To all communities that take action and form groups in the spirit of direct democracy: We offer support, documentation, and all of the resources at our disposal.

Join us and make your voices heard!”

THE OFFICIAL STANCE OF THE #OOCUPYEVERYTHING - OCCUPY TOGETHER - #OCCUPYWALLSTREET MOVEMENTS AND ALL ASSOCIATED MARCHES & OCCUPATIONS THROUGHOUT THE PLANET CURRENTLY :

This group wants absolutely nothing to do with the corrupt 2 party oligarchy as both have been bought and paid by the banks, The Federal Reserve and Wall Street and does not need nor require money from 1%'rs and to say anything otherwise is a major dis service to this group and movement as a whole as we see people like Soros as being apart of the problem and does not endorse millionaires or billionaires. No corporate dollars are welcomed and if one were to attempt to finance this movement it would be rejected and returned with a note saying "No sale!"!

To believe anything else means you are being seriously deceived and tricked and said source should not be trusted or taken seriously and if it does not come from the aforementioned it is not to be taken as the official stance. No General Assembly in any group throughout the planet will amend this ever!

STRONG EMPHASIS UPON THE FOLLOWING AND CANNOT BE EXPRESSED ENOUGH :
Unless it comes from Occupy Together, Occupy Everything, #Occupy Wall Street, NYC General Assembly or any of the countless official "Occupy" family of sites it does not speak for this movement and the movement will not endorse any site outside of our family of sites. Adbusters does not speak for us, Tides does not speak for us, no union speaks for us, The American Socialist Party does not speak for us, The Communist Party does not speak for us, Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Biden, The Democratic National Committee, The Republican Nation Committee, The Tea Party, Libertarian movement or any other political party or figurehead does not speak for us and neither do they represent us! neither does any group that has decided to join us under their own free will and volition but even those groups and our partner firms do not speak for us! We speak for ourselves!

All are welcomed from all faiths, ethnic groups, political persuasions, LBGTI, animal and kid friendly as we will not discriminate, we will be friendly to all. Illicit narcotics (marijuana to meth while all scrips prescribed to a fellow protester are obviously allowed) and liquor (all forms) use are banned and will get someone expelled and turned over to law enforcement. Come as you are! Remember, there is no member of the 1% that is on this website which means we are all The 99%!
