Also...look due east of this structure at the very interesting airfields. One is glowing and the other ir partially covered by the same erosion.

The link to GM you gave is not the right one I think, it shows a map of America.

Same goes for your 2nd link.

Do you check your links?

Yep, I misread.

I'm not sure what I am seeing here. Is it possible gridded for mining purposes? It seems there are a lot of different coloured rock formations around showing different mineral compositions?

I was thinking in that direction too.

Do you agree that the other pics with the big white lines, aren´t real lines at all?

Dude, out of 6 links, you have posted none that actually worked or showed the map you meant.

Hellooooo.

Seems to be a missile testing site. Found a discussion about it on a Google Earth community forum.

No, I believe they are real as per the points I have highlighted in the below screenshot:

As I have explained im my previous posts, there is no way that lines as striaght as these, with perfect corners are real lines across those mountains.

It´s an overlay, with the contrast of the mountains shining through, imo.

Hmm, good observation, but I can find more of these white streaks throughout that map, not just next to the big white lines.

Hmm, really don´t know what to think right now.

Is it possible that the lines are archaeological in nature.? That is, they may have existed from prehistorical times and are now being uncovered. Perhaps lines similar to the Nazca lines of Peru?

China has a wealth of Prehistorical sites, and possibly has the greatest number of Pyramids equaling in size, those in Egypt.

I understand there is a connection between all the ancient pyramid sites in regard to "ley lines" around the world. Could this also be part of that connection?

China, while enjoying its historical sites, isn't exactly forthcoming on the archaeological work they do, in fact they sometimes treat that work much as a state or military secret.

Another thought, and this would be for those who know how to approach such things with a computer. With a computer could there be and underlying pattern to the lines if some are removed from the equation? Perhaps some of the lines are meant as a distraction to hide the intent of the construction.

Yes. Precisely the line of thought I am thinking now.

Whatever the material used to lay these lines down, only in the extremely active areas of where erosion is occurring can there be seen any evidence that these are physically there, but there is more than enough visual evidence to suggest they are there, mainly due to the bleeding of the colour in some areas.

This area had the large earthquakes and although I am not saying that this is what it is, it could be some kind of visual reference system to detect what faults have moved by how much. China probably has satellites which can take pictures from space the same as other countries, so this fairly remote area could be too much trouble to monitor from the ground. ???

Just a thought that earthquakes in that region may be the reason. The Chinese have been known to investigate the responses by animals as early warning signs so anything is possible.

Google has been known to artificially add stuff into their images - at least in antarctica anyway they have overlayed green/brown gunge to obscure stuff.

Sorry if this has already been stated but...no time to read all replies.

The third one down (I think)... if you zoom out you'll see more structures. the one to the NE is a missile warhead range. You can even see the impact craters in the NNE quadrant. This whole thing is in support of testing their MRBM and LRBM fleet to establish a "circular error probable", which describes the accuracy of the missile.

The other structures have been deliberately altered, as they (more than likely) reveal range test equipment and radar gear. (obvious military value).

This very interesting, glad to see something less political, rather more mysterious on ATS. Lately the content seems very "grown up" and this seems like a juicy NEW topic.

Well, after reading through this thread and examining the pictures - in my opinion these are actual physical markings on the ground. Without a doubt the are meant to be viewed from high above, probably from low earth orbit. What could their purpose be? So far we have (listed from most likely to least IMO)...

1. Targets for missiles or space based weapon.
2. Symbols and/or messages for someone up there to read or notice.
3. Something ancient being uncovered or exposed.
4. Layouts for future structures to be built.
5. Evidence of something underground.

Did I miss any?

What are you trying to say? What is your opinion of these images?

He is trying to say that it seems some people didn't bother to actually check out the link, because they are talking about cities. The OP posted nothing about cities. They read the thread title and just assumed it was about the ghost cities, which it wasn't. Pretty comical watching people continue to comment as if they know what this thread is even about. Some examples:

Yep, because the OP posted nothing about cities.

That's cool. Doesn't have anything to do with this thread thought, the OP has nothing in it about cities.

Maybe its for future reallocation from after the collapse and the disasters ? these random empty cities are coming up all over the world, even a few being built in India which is rather extremely low profile...

People are going to relocate to a bunch of random zizag lines in the middle of nowhere?

If they can do it for office blocks, why not an entire city?

And what does that have to do with this thread? Nothing about cities in the OP..

Misleading title? "Why Is China Building These Gigantic Structures In the Middle of the Desert?"

Or did I not read the entire article?
