Frank Miller calls OWS cowards, louts, thieves and rapists.

Who's Frank Miller?

A very famous American comic artist and writer. He created 300 and Sin City (not to be confused with Alan Moore who created V for Vendetta).

What did he say?

He reduces OWS to cocktail of criminals and selfish trendsters and instead suggested they do their real duty by joining the military and fighting al-Qaeda and Islamicism.

“Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

Wake up, pond scum. America is at war against a ruthless enemy. Maybe, between bouts of self-pity and all the other tasty tidbits of narcissism you’ve been served up in your sheltered, comfy little worlds, you’ve heard terms like al-Qaeda and Islamicism.

In the name of decency, go home to your parents, you losers. Go back to your mommas’ basements and play with your Lords Of Warcraft. Or better yet, enlist for the real thing. Maybe our military could whip some of you into shape. They might not let you babies keep your iPhones, though. Try to soldier on.

What I think

I'm very surprised at Frank Miller. My jaw dropped reading his blog. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but he's demonstrated an unforgivable amount of ignorance. I may as well have been reading a Fox News article. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't have to like OWS. It's the blanket erroneous generalizations that I have a problem with. I find it hard to digest that Miller is truly this ignorant. If it's not a case of ignorance, he's either a propagandist or shill. It's funny that he expects OWS members to join the military. Did he serve?

Wow, I actually like the movie 300 and a lot of OWS'ers have played the movie at encampments for moral boosts.

Hes right to his opinion on the movement just like anyone else.

He has; although, no real power to effect any change, but nontheless- its only his opinion.


I have my own reasons for not fully supporting OWS, and neither of my reasons are the same as what this guy is saying.

I dont think they need to join the ARMY to be benefitial.

They need clear objectives if they want to bring about any sort of change.
Change that their own voted in administration couldnt(oops did I say that?).

Particularly I think that OWS is a blatant COINTELPRO operation for speed up the NWO, but what Frank Miller is saying is that it's OK if you are part of pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, in the US military uniform, for invade Muslim countries, kill Arabs, rape their women and children and steal their oil.

When someone critisizes a persons character through stereotyping such as video gamers/iphone lovers, it only goes to show that they have very little actual evidence to support the original argument.

I have never heard of Frank Miller before today, but going by what you quoted, he seems to be a complete fool.

It seems as though all of the objections here are to the fact that in Miller's opinion OWS is bad.

You may try to say there is ignorance in his opinion.

Or, perhaps that he is oversimplfying.

But those aren't objections commonly heard on ATS. We're a haven for that kind of stuff. Besides, it wouldn't be that hard to say OWS is oversimplfing the problems in America, or that many of the protesters are ignorant.

Fine, go after the fact that he doesn't like OWS, but then not that many people do.

(I'm hoping for someone to call me a shill, I'm going to start a collection. Actually, I'm not emotionally involved in OWS in any direction, pro or con. I don't know enough about it yet.)

Frank Miller wrote The Dark Knight Returns, so no one should ever expect him to say anything intelligent or rational. His stance on government is borderline fascist, and I am not exaggerating at all.

Two of my fav Frank Miller moments are the Death of Elektra and the Wolverine mini-series. Having said that, thought the guy was smarter than stereotyping OWS into one bad bunch, but he's welcome to his opinion.

I read this last night.
He must be losing his marbles. Most of his fans likely support OWS.
Not to mention he's an artist that didn't serve in the military. Imagine how many unemployed artists are out there for OWS. If this was 30 years ago, he'd be down there.

Frank Miller is correct on all counts.

OWS (AKA FLEA Party) is not for change, they are for causing trouble, scoring drugs, free food, and free and sometimes forced sex.

I agree with Frank Miller.

Frank Miller makes his money on extremes.

There was a 50/50 chance of where he would land.

He also needs people with money to buy his stories, so attacking the rich would be bad for his business.
