If you want to learn how to handle this and the US post office, go to ebay community link at the top - discussion boards - community help boards -
packing and shipping. These people are experienced in post office goof ups, and more. If you are not a part of ebay, it is free to join. No, you
don't have to bid on anything just to be able to post.
First, I hope the package was insured, and not just tracked. If insured and lost, you can file a claim with the post office. Many times the post
office will find it quick after filing the claim. If not, at least you get your money back minus the shipping cost. I know there is a way to file for
lost package. It has been awhile since I sold or bought anything on ebay.
Go to ebay fourm, and ask. Also, go to the post office website and nose around. Sometimes the post office employees are not 100% up to date on their
policies. You can find out when and how to file for a lost package, and or insurance claim if insured.
Hopefully it will arrive safe and sound soon. Just in case, look in unexpected places. When I did read the ebay forums, I read about a case where the
people thought the package was lost in the mail, but found it in the shrubs by the fence. Go figure. May have been someone playing a prank.
Good luck.
