A friend of mine, who went to prison, said they actually showed The Secret to inmates, as part of a 'empowerment program' designed to help ex-cons
when they get out. Needless to say, I find it kind of odd when it gets to that level. I asked him if it helped, and he said, "Nah, not much, but it
got me outta my cel for a while, which was cool."
Personally, (and, yes, I have viewed it) I find it to be a kind of dumbed down form of the basic principals of Magickal work, or even more like Shakti
Gawayne's (I think that was her name, anyway) 'Creative Visualization'.
In a nutshell: If you really want something, focus on it, positively affirm it, then let it go, and try to forget about it. Eventually, you will get
'exactly what you need', but it may be nothing at all like what you thought you wanted.
It is not really so much a secret, except to those who have not searched, and unfortunately, for those that do stumble across it thinking it is a way
to instantly create success without effort or 'work', disappointment, most likely, is the only thing that awaits. You are better off studying
Crowley's work, IMHO. Just my three cents worth. Thanks.
