So I was just checking out the earthquakes like I usually do every night and I noticed that there has not been a recorded earthquake in Turkey(which has been jolting nonstop for a month) and there have been quite a few on the west coast it seems as soon as the Turkey quakes stopped
Also MOST of the west coast quakes have been VERY shallow in quake terms. Does anybody know if perhaps Turkey may be on the opposite side of the earth as the west coast? I am just trying to come up with explanantions as I found this quite intruiging. So any experts(armchair allowed) know what could could be attributing to this? Thank you!

Not on that specific website, no.
But at the seismological institute in Turkey itself, they are continuing to record a whole bunch...

deprem.gov.tr

Edit- but thats also the same with most places in the world.
Australia, for example, records its own minor earthquakes, but your globalincident website just doesnt bother to list them.

Turkey quiet? News is showing another massive hotel collapse yesterday trapping hundreds of people after a 6.0 or thereabouts. The death toll is really high. Same area of Van.

Many on ATS believe that we're hearing more and more about earthquakes because of the internet and world news coverage....and I abolutely agree. But I do believe the Earth is experiencing more and more earthquakes than in previous years (this is just observation I haven't done thorough research).

I have been in a couple of earthquakes while living in central American and no matter what the magnitude they definitely give you a jolt.

Now with activity happening in many locations in the US that normally don't occur or not to magnitudes recorded (Oklahoma) my curiosity is beginning to wonder what is going on beneath the surface. There have been reports of explosions that shake the ground (Georgia, DC, Colorado) and spikes in earthquake activity in Arkansas. I'm not a scientist...I'm not throwing conspiracies around...I'm just an average American baffled by the activities occuring. The question is...where's the next BIG ONE gonna hit? And how big??
