The Dover Air Force Base mortuary for years disposed of portions of troops’ remains by cremating them and dumping the ashes in a Virginia landfill, a practice that officials have since abandoned in favor of burial at sea.
The Dover mortuary, the main point of entry for America’s war dead and the targe t of federal investigations for alleged mishandling of remains, engaged in the practice from 2003 to 2008, according to Air Force officials. The manner of disposal was not disclosed to relatives...
“My only peace of mind in losing my husband was that he was taken to Dover and that he was handled with dignity, love, respect and honor,” Smith said. “That was completely shattered for me when I was told that he was thrown in the trash.”

Oh no. Please. You can also have the additional peace of mind that he was a slab of beef, otherwise known as a simple "asset" to the US military. Used to regime change, fight illegal wars, and do the bidding of politicians with agendas. I am sorry he wasn't used for the original intended purpose in the Constitution, but you will need to take that up with Washington.

Get yourself together. I can count off far worse atrocities very easily. Just because these guys were members of a terrorist organization makes it no different, in fact, I have less sympathy. How about those 60,000 Americans killed in recent underground bunker explosions, oh wait... That's actually 'above top secret'.

I completely understand the frustration and anger that many would have after hearing about this practice, especially if a loved one who passed away was involved. In my opinion however, I don't care what happens to my body after I am gone...It is simply a useless hunk of something that used to be alive.
I suppose some would care about their bodies after they are dead for religious reasons, and loved ones may care because the body acts as some sort of link to the deceased person, but I wouldn't really care to be honest. I think in this situation part of the shock comes from the sheer dishonesty of the practice.

You think American Armed Forces are doing good in the world? Think these people are sent around to promote liberty and keep the peace? Keeping your streets safe? Yeah, right...

I'm talking about the other atrocities that don't make it to the news.

That can be anything from third world localities to black government facilities. I'll tell you, the latter is beyond anything you could dare imagine, but is real nonetheless and damn appalling. Stuff like that doesn't get discussed around here, it takes personal initiative to dig deep into meaningful topics.
