That's all well and fine regarding a "Crime" but attacking a military target as in the USS Cole is an act of war. He is lucky he is seeing the inside of a court room instead of the bottom of a caskets lid.

Context is everything.

Torture is wrong any way you slice the cake. What went wrong in your life that you actually think torture is accepted as right? What kind of sick, twisted person gets off on torture? That is signs of an undiagnosed and undocumented mental disorder.

Only sociopaths, psychopaths, diabolical and the maniacal think torture is ok!

Yeah, I "Get Off" on torture....

That is signs of an undiagnosed and undocumented mental disorder.

No, it's called understanding how the REAL real world works.
Not an isolated academic exercise in futility.

Only sociopaths, psychopaths, diabolical and the maniacal think torture is ok!

I don't think it's "Ok" but I understand that sometimes it's required.

You know... I haven't heard you say one peep about those killed by his actions. I wonder why? [He was judge, jury and executioner] I know why, you're too busy pushing your version or morality. Why haven't you used that higher opinion of self and directed that discerning eye towards his actions and the victims or the surviving family?

Nah, too all inclusive and all encompassing I suspect.

I say how can anyone defend or sympathize with those people and since the thread author just loved to make the topic about a poster well i would be the topic if i planned and plotted and action led up to the murder of American's.

You can address me directly Neo and not as "The thread author".

However i haven't take off those rose colored glasses real life never has or ever will live up to the cold hard fact of what we call life today. Keep preaching morality and you are accessories to murder.

What are you talking about? I'm not preaching morality (though I have in the past) all I'm saying is that torture isn't legal. It's never been legal and the ends don't justify the means. Even the guilty deserve to be treated fairly. That's my stance. Why am I wrong?

Those bleeding heart's will never get it that there are people who will do anything and everything to kill them and use any means necessary to accomplish that they play by different rules and people have and will continue to die.

I don't care though. That's the issue. I'm not defending a murderer for what he did. If he killed innocents so be it he needs to go to jail (or be executed. Even though I'm anti-death penalty I'd probably make an exception for enemies of the country.).

Sense make? Oui?

See that is infuriating give them rights? What about the right's of those they kill?

They have such a ridiculous "arguement".

Here's the stupidness of the argument on your end though. Stop pretending you make the laws. I'm talking about it from a legal stand point and from a legal stand point torture is illegal. It isn't personal opinion it's that people in our government are breaking rules and torturing suspects.

I saw this documentary advertised on NPR a few weeks ago about this fifteen year old canadian kid who was tortured by our government. Quiet the story. If anyone knows what I'm talking about supply a link.

Because looking at it from a military standpoint each of those killed willingly put on the uniform of the enemy and stood with them which made them what? You guessed it? An enemy of The United States!

This is the only thing that matters when it pertains to strikes against people like bin-Ladin, Al Alwaki and the other like 5 or so Taliban and al-Qaida operatives that were hit by the Seals!

As to you trying to legally justify torture read the following and learn something :

I can't believe this got off on a rant of "Let's give killers rights". That is not and I repeat NOT, what I'm talking about. I'm talking about not torturing people. Even enemies. We can reach our goals in different ways. We're the best country in the world aren't we guys? Sometimes I don't feel like it but if we want that view to continue WE CAN'T TORTURE.

Also it isn't a matter of what you think is right. It's a matter of the law.

The USS Cole was struck by a bomb hidden on a small boat.
Most of those killed were asleep in their bunks. She was in Port during peace time.

I don't care how you're trying to slice it to justify their actions.

The Arab world respects us that much more? I sincerely doubt that. Be realistic. I should specify and be exact that I highly doubt the terrorists who would see us all dead respect that.

We do not ignore the law when it's politically convenient for us to do so. That is just that, Nothing else matters but this and if you still find a problem with this then the problem lies with you!

The problem with that statement is that when you attempt to say "WE" you are trying to speak for me.

You don't

If I have a problem in your opinion, fine. It's mine, I own it. Push your version of morality on somebody else brother, you have no sale here.

The stupidness is having a pity party for those people who go around murdering and beheading American's.

When they start acting like human beings then maybe i will start to give a crap.

Til then revel in aiding and abetting inhuman criminal behavior.

The Arab world now is seeing us turning over a new leaf which was indicative and a prerequisite for them to take us seriously, a quid pro quo of sorts. We are showing them by our actions that a better way is possible and by us not torturing people anymore proves that we are rising above the mess and atrocities of the past.

That is why there is a shift in the tide in Arabia so that it can fully live in a 21st Century world!

This is what the Arab Spring was all about.

Saudi Arabia to allow women to vote, participate in elections and to operate a car by 2014 is proof in itself that the Arab world is in the process of a change for the better!
