good fvcking lord.

that was as staged a fiasco as could be.

her and the others associated with better not quit their day jobs!

obvious beyond the point of being obvious.

if she truly fell and was injured, i feel for her ... otherwise ... what a great 'performance' on her and the other's part(s).

I don't think it was staged .I wouldn't have a hard time believing that she was jostled off the step (significant other read 'jostled' over my shoulder and laughed) or just tripped. Still, implying she was attacked is ridiculous .

The people trying to escort her through pushed into someone which started a chain reaction knocking one person into another resulting in the fall. Not the fault of the protestors.

Try again OP!

I recognize she was being assisted and I do think some of those who volunteered to help were protestors. However if you re read my post I mentioned assisting beyond physical injuries. I may be wrong to assume this but I suspect it would have been considerate if the crowd had quieted the chanting or at least moved it a little further away....there looks to be people chanting within 5-10 feet of her. The nurses, etc would be doing neurological tests on her as she hit her head. Call me crazy but talking to a person when in that amount of noise would be difficult. Now add an elderly lady who may or may not have hearing issues but definitely confused due to a fall and crowd confusion and you have a result where people could help or hinder by there actions.

As I mentioned in my first post this has nothing to do with was it an accident or on purpose....personally I think it was an accident and the wording in the OP title is way out of line....my own opinion. However I do think the protestors made things worse through their actions and while I don't expect everyone to think about how they could help I was surprised when I didn't see anyone try to calm and quiet the crowd. People shouldn't have to be told how they can help in a situation like that, their own thought process should be enough to spur them on.

OP has been rather critical of the source, and story.

Try again poster that doesn't bother to read the OP!

No matter the details of 'push' or 'fall' it seems to me that what we have is a somewhat rowdy crowd interfering with people just trying to do normal things. A woman now needs a 'security' escort to attend a dinner in DC?
What is the world coming to that this is accepted as 'normal'.
This is not normal.

yeah and don't you know what happened yesterday in Boston and later in New York ??? Oh my God, the OWS did kill a child and did roast it for dinner and blablabla then did commit a abortion on a old lady that was pregnant and crying " Eviva Bushy and Palin " and blablabla then did rape a nun praying for Cain's salvation and blablabla and blablabla ...
just sickening talk all together, stupid, very stupid ....
like the one poster that did show some dirt on the streets and then tries to discredit the whole OWS for this ...
jesus, what a #ty peptalk, instead of being to the point with real information about the real reasons of the Occupy movement, they spew dirt on the people fighting for once together for a better world ..... pitty US mentality !!

You know what you also didn't see? You didn't see them not push her. I know, right? Victims of crimes are always to blame, especially when "corporate greed has got to go, hey hey, ho ho".

Since what's been going on here is clearly not what the media is describing, will that encourage you re-evaluate the way events are being reported from other "encampments?"

I'm not denying that sexual assault has happened, but if you think it's happening to a degree that "she should feel lucky they didn't try and rape her too," then you're watching the news in a very different way than I am, and I'm curious to know if this changes your perspective at all.

I already believe that media is propaganda and not fact, and even I'm surprised by how blatant the misinformation is on this one.

Staged event, anything to make the occupiers look bad. Where are the articles about them doing good?

The TSA are the goons not the "true" occupy protestors and you know it. The TSA are pedophiles, do you support the TSA?

Yes in fact, you are wrong. There's no reason for them to halt their protest and "go somewhere else."

Nobody's going to be doing neurological tests on the steps. With what, a Star Fleet-issue tricorder? It's a simple matter of asking, "Are you okay? Can I help you? Should I call someone?" The crowd does not need to be silenced for this, it's easily accomplished by speaking closely to the person.

As I mentioned in my first post this has nothing to do with was it an accident or on purpose....personally I think it was an accident and the wording in the OP title is way out of line....my own opinion. What I'm seeing is someone who wants the protestors to shut up and go away, and who is using a mishap as cover for that. The people have a right, perhaps even a duty to protest. There is no expectation for the crowd to fall into utter silence and shuffle off out of sight, nor should there be. Aid was rendered to these two ladies, and at least from the video, was done so effectively.

Please stop trying to come up with "yeah, but..." arguments.

People are so ready to believe that people who they disagree with snatch candy from babies and push little old ladies down stairs.

Just because you disagree with a group of people doesn't make them callous monsters.

While it is impossible to tell conclusively because the way the camera is moving around, is obvious that the most likely reason that she fell was she took a bad step or that someone accidentally bumped into her.

I don't care if some ats members don't want to be BFFs with the occupy movement, this is about the fact that when shown an ambiguous video some people instead of viewing it open mindedly use it as "infallible" evidence to advance there own agendas

I agree and disagree. I agree that the video doesn't show any protestors knocking her violently to the ground. It also doesn't show an escort, or security guard, pushing her down either. In fact, you can only see the top of her head, then she apparently falls, and the camera pans and moves around to the side to get a better shot.

This doesn't let them off the hook, we'd need another angle to verify who "pushed" this woman down.

Very disingenuous of you OP. your tactics are plain as day and you aren't going to fool anyone who hasn't already sided against democracy and reason.

All we know for certain is that two women ended up on the ground. I refuse to say they were "plants," any more than I'm going to accept "it was an attack!" for the simple reason that accidents do happen. Were arrests made? Are charges being filed? Are the women suing someone? Any news on their condition?

It just looks like people got bumped, were helped back up, and went on their way. Could be wrong. Would like to find out.

The only clear thing is that the video-maker - and the OP and several posters here - have a definite agenda burning. I wonder who they're trying to convince.
