'Occupy D.C.' Goons Push Elderly Woman Down the Stairs

Occupy DC Protesters assaulted conservatives as they exited an Americans For Prosperity “Tribute to Ronald Reagan” dinner. This elderly woman, 78 years old, rode 11 hrs on a bus from Detroit to attend the dinner. After the attack she was taken to hospital with multiple injuries, a bloody nose which developed after the fall, and a large knot on her head. After x-rays and a CAT scan, she was released the following morning with cuts and large bruises.

Article may have just the slightest bit of bias. For what it's worth it certainly seemed an accident. I thought I was going to see a little old lady in a walker shoved from behind tumbling down a long flight of steps. The protesters also seemed concerned for her well being after she fell. Always amusing to see a news site warp the truth for a good headline. I especially like the use of 'goon'. I haven't heard that in awhile and will be using it today at some point.

It appears her "escort" was trying to hurry her along quicker than her 70(+) year old legs could carry her and he accidentally knocked her off the stoop. I didn't see anyone violently push her as the thread title would suggest, especially not one of the protesters.

Well actually it seems the security guard pushes her down by accident.

Being on a conspiracy site you could say it wasn't really an accident. Woman seems to be an actress too.

Judging by whats been going on at the other OWS encampents, she should feel lucky they didnt try and rape her too.

(I would also ask when did a group of Occupy DC protesters push an elderly woman down the stairs, but the answer to that seems clear)

Not to mention there is video of this same event showing another older lady pushed down and protestors pushing a man holding a baby.

I also like how the mob doesn't even care...they just keep on with their chanting.

Judging by the comments, people were quick to demonize the OWSers, but then looking at the like/dislike ratio, I think many of those people actually enjoyed watching that women suffer.

Since what's been going on here is clearly not what the media is describing, will that encourage you re-evaluate the way events are being reported from other "encampments?"

I'm not denying that sexual assault has happened, but if you think it's happening to a degree that "she should feel lucky they didn't try and rape her too," then you're watching the news in a very different way than I am, and I'm curious to know if this changes your perspective at all.

I already believe that media is propaganda and not fact, and even I'm surprised by how blatant the misinformation is on this one.

Anyways, I didn't see anyone push the woman down. I also didn't see her fall. I saw a melee, whether it was real or not, I dunno.I saw a woman lying on the ground...being filmed by a Conservative blogger, or whomever, who also didn't bother to help her by the way but had no moral problems keeping the camera going.

Well, I've watched it a few times, and I think it was the officer who was pressing the crowd to get to the front at just about the time the lady got to the steps. Looks like an accident and real bad timing. I suspect the noise of the crowd was distracting her and I don't think anyone pushed her. I think it was a convergence of circumstances.
