My kids and I were outside looking at the night sky. There are many strange lights flashing about out there tonight. We are on the East Coast USA, southern south west VA. Just wondering if any other members are watching the night skies this evening.

I wish I had a camera to capture all the things we are seeing. Maybe someone else can - if you see any of these strange flashes going on.

I'm on the east coast and can go have a look if you can describe which direction, maybe what they looked like, and whether or not they looked close. There's a slight chance I could see them from my location if they're high enough up! AKA in space. But who knows!

I see nothing here in Ohio, but it's 7:15pm here now so I may have missed it or I'm just not in the right location.

I saw an orange light following an airliner. I watched for 5 mins or so i thought it was just a ball of light but im pretty sure i made out some kind of vehicle attached to that light. I mean i know they could have easily been way away from each other from my perspective but it stood out in the night sky.

The things we are seeing are all over the sky! I am looking north at the moon, most lights we are seeing are coming from both the east and west of the moon. Not sure if that helps (probably not). I am not very good with describing directions without route numbers or major high ways to help out

OMG! We just saw an orange light hovering around and then floated right over our heads. No noise like an airliner, total quiet while it floated over head.

I saw the same thing the other night. I figured that it was two military planes flying one over the other because I couldn't rationalize it any other way. There was no sound from it either. At first I thought it was a plane towing something, that's what it looked like. I live in SW VA.

That's a fantastic night picture. I like the color.

I can't really see any lights up there though, I definitely looked, but so far nothing...

just tracked a pulsing light high in the sky flying in a linear path/ Could not see any identifying lights such as the red and blue flash, rather just a pulsing light

just so you know......

The Taurids meteor shower is in effect Nov. 5-12.....

This shower is actually two streams, the North Taurids and the South Taurids. It produces about 5-10 bright yellow meteors per hour. They enter our atmosphere at 17 miles per hour and often fragment into multiple meteors. Taurid meteors radiate form the sky not far from the Pleiades star cluster in Taurus.

not saying that this is the cause of the sightings.....

Better to be informed....

probably just the meteor shower. I saw a really big shooting star from my front porch about an hour ago. Take video if it keeps happening!

We were driving west to east on NC HWY 74 near Laurinburg and saw a green light moving west to east above us. Could not tell what it was.

I am in Southern WV and seen them myself, or at least what it seems like you seen.. I have seen the same exact ones 1 time before, albeit MUCH closer to the ground and only 3 of them, but the same flash in patterns and the same soundlessness. Tonight I seen around 10 of them though, scattered but all still in the general vicinity.

I'm a very skeptical person and there was a time I was ignorant to all of this but last night I saw a flashing light high over a hill it flashed on and off for around a minute. The color was vague but it was bright and stayed in the same spot just flashing on and off or you could call it pulsing as a post above me has. I tried to record it on my blackberry but the night sky looks too fuzzy maybe if I put the video on my computer I'll be able to spot it on the bigger screen.

The reason I noticed it is because this past week when looking at the stars I noticed what looked like a star moving from right to left in very small fidgety movements. It strangely enough looked as if it was appearing infront of Jupiter. It was enough to make me sign up for an account here.

I'm from Glasgow, Scotland. Anybody spot anything similar or have a logical explanation for me?
