i agree with you 100%. having lived near the New madrid fault my whole life (and thats a long time) every time we have anything above a 4 residents here just see it as more reason to prepare for the big one. If the emergency agencies are not prepared, they will be ridiculed for not preparing. There are so many wide rivers and old bridges and anything over a magnitude 6 will probably degrade if not destroy the many old massive bridge structures.
I understand that natural gas drilling has been a boon to the US economy but there are other sources of fuel that do not cause earthquakes and this work in the central United States is too risky with so many old dormant fault lines deep wide rivers and old bridges.
When all the investors realize, fracking is a bad investment and they stop investing, lose all their money, then fracking will have to end.

As far as secret evil goverment people who want to create destruction...? well, that would be a pretty stupid thing to do. And aliens dont need to live under the ground when they can just squat in some of these empty forclosed homes. No one would notice as long as they mow the grass.

Wow!! Ft Worth to Kansas City................What is going on beneath our surface??

I live up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - immediately north of North Dakota.. I had a dream early this week that the ground rolled towards me like a 20 - 30 foot wave..... Yes, it was only a dream, but very vivid and very strange ......and now this.....

Could be because Arkansas has placed a moratorium on waste water disposal from natural gas drilling, so they put the toxic water into a truck and drive it to Oklahoma or drive a little further and blast it back in, deep into the ground in north texas or northern new mexico to dump it and dispose of it. Oh yes and in Virginia too.
America always knew it had a large abundace of natural gas but we just found out in the past year, that extracting nat. gas AKA Fracking, and disposing of the toxic water is causing earthquakes. Research Fracking to see for yourself.

Read this !! www.ogs.ou.edu...

In which The Oklahoma Geological Survey states:

..."The strong correlation in time and space as well as a reasonable fit to a physical model suggest that there is a possibility these earthquakes were induced by hydraulic-‐fracturing."...

Fracking

Any stats to go with that theory ?

here is an article from the BBC about fracking, and minor tremors that it may have caused.
but this one seems to be to big to be caused by fracking......heres the article www.bbc.co.uk...

The OKGS has discounted fracking as a cause, the quakes are not centralized, they are to spread out for it to be the cause.

OKGS refers to ???

If it refers to Oklahoma Geological Survey then NO, they have NOT discounted franking as a cause of earthquakes as they cleary say there is the possibility that fracking is the cause!

Didn't know anything about or even what franking was till I watched this ! What happens in one location can have an impact in another..... Just sayin'......

Thank you for that Enar.
The fact that there are human beings, on this planet, that can justify doing these things to it and the whole eco system at the same time. Is one of the most curious traits, of any being, I know to exist. I can't see letting them
rome free when studying them could teach us so much. How is it we don't substitute all the innocent animals
in the labratories with this kind of verman instead ? Is it just because they 're human beings ? Cracks me up that
man will ruin his own life support system trying to make his ass more comfortable.

Idiots we unfortunatly must call our own.

The "news" here on the msm tv says this is OK's biggest recorded quake in history. Ours anyway. Things are getting weird indeed, and we all know it, and can feel it.. Stand fast.

Personally speaking it was the first quake ive experienced. Not understanding what it entailed made the experience different, solely because it was new to me.

I think the concern comes from a mix of people not being exposed to a quake, coupled with the New Madris fault line. The last time New Madrids "slipped" it was felt as far away as Boston (ringing churchbells and being felt) and caused the Mississippi river to alter course and flow backwards for some time.

Our West coast vetrans are more calm not only because you experience way more than we have, a lot of improvements have been made to infrastruture to better deal with larger quakes, where the same cant be said about our region.

We dont have that luxury in this part of the country, since earthquakes arent a common occurence. Our resources are focused in other areas, sadly enough. Even a medium quake in this region could do more damage than if a larger quake hit your region.

We view the quake and automatically associate it with New Madrids, which then puts the images of what it looked like when it went off the last time.

The sad part is that if we substituted lab animals with the ingrates that are destroying the planet, the drugs, etc. used to control them might have the positive effect of normalizing them but the negative belief that the drugs could help all of mankind..... Those drugs could then be sold to unsuspecting normal human beings turning them into a mass of "human stupidity" !

Best to shoot them into outer-space.....

What if I had a flash foward.(LOL). No seriously if there is an earthquake at say around 9 pm or so of like 5.7 then I will know I am psychic if not then either the meteorlogist is or my dream was VERY vivid. With dreams like that who needs a real life lol.

Serously I keep checking back for more reports to see which ones match up with my experiences. It was funny when I first joined on this post I was always discussing the one earlier in the afternoon then later I mentioned the latter one.
I thought it was weird that it took ATS this long to post about this event. I guess I could have been the first offical poster. I thought about it at 6 pm but next time I will not hesitate. I may look crazy but hey at least I was right.

Not fracking, but if you would like it to be so.....then sure...This is from the June swarm which was pretty similar.

I work in Guthrie Oklahoma. I was working last night right before 11 PM. I was sitting on the ground in the backroom doing inventory when I heard what I though at first was a strong gust of wind hitting the building. It was roaring like it does when wind hits the building. I went to grab for my iphone to check my weather APP when the shelves in the back started shaking and squeeking. Being that I was born and raised in California I have been through a couple before this but it has been almost 15 years since I actually felt one. Took my brain a few seconds to register what was going on. I thought "An earthquake in Oklahoma? It cant be" I heard of the one earlier in the morning that day but I didnt feel it. I hope we dont get bigger ones. Alot of old bridges in Oklahoma.

First post by the way

who is saying that? I know the Mayan Calender is done and Harold Camping was wrong on his 2nd prediction? I doubt the world will end but it may seem like that for some if earthquakes keep coming.

Did he mention how many earthquakes foreshocks and aftershocks happened? I am just curious because I go to bed beleiving on thing and wake up to something else.
To me it felt the first shock was the actual earthquake and the second was just an after shock. I don't think foreshocks are stronger than the actual earthquake.
