Will these idiots finally give up on ANON now?

So Facebook was supposed to go down today.....I updated my status so I guess it didnt work.....

When will people finally give up on ANON. They arent really doing a whole lot that they promise, atleast when it comes to large scale things. Sure they released some kiddie porn watchers names, sure they may have scared the Zetas (if thats true). But does any of this make them elite hackers?

I think the only think that makes them draw so many people are the dumb Guy Fawkes masks and the fact that "they are lurking in the shadows" oooooooooo so scary. Halloween was monday. The whole Guy Fawkes things has been misunderstood so badly its hilarious. A bunch of people who saw V for Vendetta and where like "wow man that guy like stands up to tyrants and stuff". Hopefully this latest failure kills off the legend of ANON

Thread from yesterday, as in before today, where anonymous has announced before today that they are not going to take down facebook today...

Members of Anonymous fed up with reports that the online activist group is going to take down the social network said today that the threat is not real and was the work of one lone member without any support from others in the group.

Seriously. It's getting bad enough as is. I support decentralizing governments and have always been against globalization the world bank and the IMF, because I don't believe any man should live free while others are forced into slavery, but you got to be pretty dense to not see where this Anon crap and OWS are headed. We're just giving the government an excuse to declare martial law. Of course I would rather resist the NWO if they actually try anything, but at this point it seems like they are just going to psychologically attack us until we turn on each other, wait for most of us to die off and then come in with highly organized forces and make us submit. If you really want to make a change begin networking, make a plan to deal with any crisis that comes along and help make your local community as tight knit as possible. One mass movement is easy to divide, but hundreds or thousands of small forces working separately is much harder to divide. I'm not telling anyone to organize against their police forces, or anyone in particular for that matter. I am saying to organize WITH each other and meet whatever opposition comes along as a unified force, peacefully or otherwise.

November 5th isn't Anon's big day anyway. Today is the big Rally day for OWS camps here and overseas. A world wide rally, for lack of a better term, for the Occupation. Anon has just been suggested for the ride along and whatever support they want to throw into today's events as Guy Fawkes day.

If one follows Anonymous closely, it's the 11th, not the 5th, they have been on about and referring to in their communique's and online video posts for quite some time now. If the 11th passes with nothing of note occurring, then I will agree that Anon has pretty well made for a solid record of 0/0 on promises of action and consequence coming to pass at their hands. I'm still undecided until after the 11th though. We'll see and none have long to wait anymore.

I agree the whole belief that OWS or ANON will change anything is redic. To stop something as large as we are facing you are going to need the support of the masses not some hackers and a bunch of people who want to be given more things.

From what I read all Anon does is SQL Injections which is child's play and very well documented. You also see DOS attacks, again low-level stuff. Generally they just bash the heck out of a server till it's so slow it's security mechanisms have no time to react to their brute-force attacks and they also siphon information by targetting specific user's of specific companies.

I wouldn't say based on the evidence we are allowed to see, that they are elite hacker's, however I can't be sure. It's just a logical guess based on what I have read. Which is not a whole lot.

I really think these guys give real hackers a bad name.

Why would they make an attack on rememberance/armistice day? Stealing the veterans thunder possibly? Very tasteless IMO.

I have no idea... I just stumbled across the date while looking up a video Anonymous posted regarding police treatment with OWS. That mentioned 11/11 as a day of major world change, and before long I came to discover Anonymous had videos and mentions of that date all over the place. It seems to be their main day of focus, for whatever that comes to mean.

I wish I knew what they had in mind, but it appears bragging on the targets in advance isn't part of this one, which is why I give it more than a passing interest to watch...along with everything else...that day.

They hacked pay pal ok and some other stuff...guess what tons of companies and low level stuff have been hacked. I just cant see how anyone thinks ANON is going to change anything. Thats blind hope. A lot of people think OWS is going to be able to change anything. They may get some token concessions and then everyone goes back to their little world. ANON is not gunna change anything. They arent able to do crap and they get support from people that think this whole movement is gunna change anything. When you actually get popular support...not just the public opinion poll type...we will talk. Until then its all a pipe dream

Oh and I have neither a paypal or any online game accounts. God forbid someone not like ANON because they are a huge scam. Your ideas: fail
