'Chance for Iran diplomacy fading, military option closer'.

www.jpost.com

President Shimon Peres on Friday said that he believes Israel is closer to utilizing the military option in dealing with Iran's nuclear program than it is to finding a diplomatic solution to the threat.

In an interview with Channel 2, the president suggested that the media speculation about a potential attack on Iran may have some basis in truth. "Intelligence services in many countries are looking at the clock and warning their leaders that not much time remains. I do not know if these w.....

So now what? I hope this does not turns out to be worse because America, Israel, and Britain is preparing to strike on Iran's capability to make nuclear weapons.

Israel and the West need to keep in mind how high the stakes are with Iran and Syria.
This is not Afghanistan,Iraq or Libya and I guarantee you that Russia and China will not sit this one out as they did for the others.

Prepare for the unexpected and remember this old Yiddish saying ;

'Man plans,God laughs.'

The final decision to evoke a conflagration of death, pain, fire, and violent destruction lies in the minds of a handful of people. None of them listen to, or care about what anyone thinks except for themselves.

Comforting no?

This kind of headline will continue to grace our media for a spell to come .... I wonder what they could be distracting everyone from? Perhaps the organized crime ring that runs the global financial market?

Sorry... feeling a bit cynical today....

I feel for the people of Iran.

I'm so tired of reading lines like "The Iranian Threat" as if Iran will somehow vaporize the planet the second they get a nuke.

Its all about Israels wish to remain the big unchallenged bully in the region to be able to do whatever they wish to do without being challenged. Wake the F- up people!

I agree, war drums are getting louder. As a positive - public opinion in Israel is more or less equally divided between pro/anti war with Iran (last poll i hears was 41% pro 39% against) and cabinet does not have majority vote needed for the operation.
On the other side if Peres (who is politician to the bone and chooses his words carefully) is speaking about war and populist Liberman hate-monger is the one calming things down.... It is not that good.
I do not understand what good will come out of this war for anyone ,especially for Israel. I see lots of dead, ruined economy world wide and Israel taking the blame for the mess. Plus Iran getting nuke ten years later anyway.
Maybe it is just a smoke screen news,as Maxmarx said?

As if Israel wants to do anything BESIDES nuke every Muslim country in a 5000 mile radius.

They're simply displaying a farce. "We REALLY don't want to but we tried everything!" When they have tried nothing.

Then when they nuke them (or more realistically, when they make their slave America nuke them) they can claim they exhausted every option.

Couldn't agree more. They won't even admit to having nukes and refuse to allow any inspections, yet they cry about Iran doing the same thing. They're pathetic and the people of Israel seem too brainwashed to rise up and demand a change in policy and get rid of the evildoers in power, who are bringing us all closer every day to WWIII and the end of the world by proxy.

Not the whole world...only Israel.

This is actually all about the Muslim world not being happy about the Jews being handed a homeland at the end of WWII at the expense of the hapless Palestinians...and now Israel being intent on holding onto this new/old homeland at any cost.

If a "two-state" solution could be worked out...and then all of the other players were to back off (especially Iran), then maybe the inevitable could be averted.

But, for whatever set of reasons...after decades of bloody conflict and negotiation, Israel and the Palestinians have not gotten it done. And Iran (like Egypt and Syria before it) have nominated themselves as the nation that will bring about the demise of the Jewish State.

Iran's blustering, posturing and agitating (via Hezbollah and others) are all manageable from Israel's perspective...right up to the point that Iran has a nuclear option - which would mean they could in fact wipe Israel out in one move on the chess board. Israel could be gone, as people like to say, "in the twinkling of an eye."

This is the line in the sand that they cannot, and will not, allow to be drawn.

This, and another similar quote from the USA last week is very much like the build up to invading Iraq a decade ago.
Bush, Blair and co. were sending out statements about "running out of time".
Have we had the "only 42 minutes till they nuke us" dossier propaganda yet?

Edit - just like this example...

"Time is running out on Saddam Hussein. He must disarm. I'm sick and tired of games and deception, and that's my view of timetables," Bush said.

I think it is already a done deal.

Israel WILL attack Iran.
Behind closed doors, they already know.

Or so I suspect.....

Perhaps it is the coffee *sip*

what diplomacy ? Israel has no damn idea what diplomacy is or how to use it.. Maybe if they'd learn it and actually try to use diplomacy they'd find a better way to do things than mass murder of everyone they dont like.. Israel chomping at the bit for more war, death and bloodshed has made up its mind long ago to attack iran ..

Then Israel should not be too surprised when Iran counter-strikes at Dimona.

Seems a fair trade to me.

maybe if people ever learn to actually sit down talk , listen and compromise they'd find that they have more in common than they thought.. Leading them to solutions to things in a calm, rational and peaceful manner instead of slaughtering each other over the most idiotic and trivial excuses..
In most cases diplomacy fails because they want it to fail and make no effort to even try... That way so-called leaders justify their miserable , useless existences and profit from misery, bloodshed and death because they dont give a damn about the people they lead.. If they did they'd make more effort at trying to find solutions that didnt include mass murder .. Doesnt matter what country they're from the so-called leaders are all corrupt , useless bastards.. Humanity needs to grow up and stop behaving like savages..

Yup, and then they say "Iran diplomacy is fading" when it is clearly Israel and the US (through its blatent anti-diplomacy bill) who are instigating it.

They are the monsters, and out of control.

The world has accepted a nuclear Pakistan and North Korea without preemptive attacks... May not be officially accepted but it is nonetheless.

Pakistan and North Korea both pose serious threats yet there is no military option with either.

Pakistan has been aiding the very forces we are fighting in Afghanistan, responsible for KILLING U.S. and allied troops... Still, we have warm relations with them, they are considered one of our top allies in the 'war on terrorism'

The world (Israel) needs to learn to accept a nuclear Iran... All other options should now be off the table.

This is not complex here, the stability of the entire world, and the lives of countless millions cannot be sacrificed for the security of one tiny little nation.

Israel and the world can make the right choices here... The wrong one should be painfully obvious.

Oh sure Iran has gone a couple of centuries without attacking anyone but as soon as they have the nuke they will wipe Israel off the map.
Did you ever stop to think Israel may have not had as many problems with Muslims if as soon as they were given their nation they started expanding their boarders instead of just sticking to the land they were given? And one of the peace demands Palestine made was no more new settlements looks like that fell on deaf ears huh?

You have made some valid points here and I only want to add one thing for the others who don't know what was there before Israel became a nation...

it was a pile of sand. completely 3rd world in every aspect.

The displaced European Jews who settled there and other Middle Eastern Jews who quickly joined built up a thriving nation. Would they have done the same anywhere... I believe so.

This pissed off the Palestinians, not because they are jealous of what the Israelis built, although I have heard some argue this is the case... but because they were not included. I think it was very foolish not to include Arabs from the start. If you really go back in time, we are from the same people.

However, there is no room in Islam for Jews, and Jews return the sentiment toward Arab Muslims.

The worst part is that the biggest point of contention is an area the size of roughly a couple square city blocks. The temple mount.

Oddly enough, it seems that even though orthodox Christians, Muslims, and Jews all occupy the old city in Jersusalem, when I was there on a visit, it seemed like they found a way to get along, at least on the surface.

Israel has nukes and threatens its neighbors with them pretty frequently. Using them is another thing. Anyone who has nukes should be surrounded by neighbors with nukes. It's the only way to keep the playing field level. Alternatively, and preferably, we could get rid of nukes altogether. If ever there was a winning idea, that would be it.

But think about this: North Korea has nukes! No one is bothering with them though, even when they pop off a few for show. Why is Iran now so different when there is no better evidence that they have anything more than Iraq did? And we know they had nothing of the sort.

Iran is probably the oldest civilization on the planet. And just as with Iraq, there is no genuine threat there. We still haven't found anything in Iraq though they were supposed to have a 45-minute strike capability with their "weapons of mass destruction". Remember? This is all just another trumped up excuse to invade for something else altogether.

The US took away huge amounts of ancient relics and treasures from Iraq. I'm convinced that that is what they were indeed after. Same goes for Iran now. That is the point of all of this. TPTB want those goodies and they will have them at all costs. Your lives, the lives of your children, your neighbors and friends are all expendable in the search for that plunder. This war is old and TPTB have tired of waiting.

Iran is the nation of Aryans - Hitler's obsession. How many secret societies have their imagery and rituals based on these ancient cultures? Just about all of them. There is something there that they want. They own us because they've convinced us that it's so and we happily do their bidding.

Dont worry about Iran...
I think you should all worry about AIPAC and their boys pushing the new law through that prevents the PRESIDENT from actively having contact with Iran without giving them 15 days notice..(enough time for a pre emptive strike BEFORE the talks can begin i suppose).

The president efectivly has lost power with this law...he will have to put his request through AIPAC's boys in the house before he acts..thus giving AIPAC control of the country on this matter (for starters)..
